NEW McKess 37 pollen X

I`m still not sure about this. Especially on a perfect black finish. I`ll probably try it on my black ss Camaro. But I doubt it will prevent towel marks

Maybe the key to the product is applying directly after a wash and then see how it performs, instead of trying it out on a polished vehicle.

I always wonder why Pollen is such an issue for some people, but OK...if it is, then it is.

I guess that just like bugs and bird-bombs, every case is different and I`m just lucky that it washes right off (and/or rinses off in the rain).

Oh man, no way would *I* try it on your Camaro!!

If pollen is such a big deal that people worry about using a RR/WW on it, what would make this stuff safer? I`ve never found it especially abrasive (despite how scary it looks in macro pix), but some here have expressed concerns about it and I`m all in favor of being marring-paranoid.

Anti-static? Eh, FK425 is supposed to provide that, but it sure never did for me, but OK..maybe this is different.

Might be like bugs. Use to think that bugs weren’t a big deal and why people on forums over react to them. Then saw the thread with the Florida love bugs and holy isht! U do t have to much problem with pollen. N 914 in waterless does the job on those heavy days.

Maybe pollens different in volume and texture around the country? Not sure

Coatings=crack- Yeah, those Love Bug threads made me appreciate how lucky I am in that regard. I guess the pollen can be the same way or else nobody would care about it. I`ve sure never experienced any problems from it though, it always washes right off easy as can be.

Ok this is the pollen drip from less than a day. I ordered Pollen-X and it arrives Tuesday. I hope it really works for me.

We get pretty heavy accumulations here, and I saw much worse after spending a couple weeks in central Alabama for work this spring. A really thick layer that built up quickly. However, you`re right that a good rain takes it right off. In my case since, while I was in Alabama I simply found one of those coin-op car washes and the pressure washer blasted the stuff right off. Not a big deal. I`ve always rinsed it off easily when washing, or wiped it off with a WW if it wasn`t too thick.

Not really sure how it`s different than any rinseless wash sprayed directly on paint.

My thoughts too. When I asked this very question on AG, the reply was something about "accidential" discovery of some sort of polymer which keeps pollen from sticking. Who knows until a side-by-side test takes place. Based on experience I`m not really compelled to worry to much about it. WW does just fine for me.

Wow, how did I get by all these years without it.

Ha! No kidding. I`m all for new products which make our lives easier or improve upon what is available, but sometimes I think you can make too much of a niche product.

bofh- Oh good, glad to hear that! I worried that it was some "can`t get it off!"-type problem that you were hoping the Pollen X would solve.

I`m guessing it`s not so much the `washing off` part of Pollen-X that is attractive. If it can actually `repel` pollen after using, that would be the compelling reason to buy it IMHO. I am skeptical, however.

You and me both ;) But hey, I`ve been wrong before!

Maybe it`ll help the pollen blow off. Some LSPs are great/lousy in that regard and maybe the Pollen X will help the lousy ones.

I decided to give it a try. I live in a part of the country where even a freshly washed car kept in the garage will need to have a quick detail every 2 to 3 days just to clean off the layer of pollen that comes from opening and closing garage doors. I recently put McKees Paint sealant on it so this is going over a ceramic coat. Used it for the first time tonight, fingers crossed
