New M105 is kicking but w/ KB method

In my limited experience a PC with 4 inch pads can do some pretty good correction with the right compound and with less spatter.
 
I've always prefered the 5.5 low pro pads with the PC. You simply get more throw. I don't know the physics, but it works this way. I'm guessing that using this pad over a larger one saves product when saturating it and holds it closer to the surface.



I will be using this techinique this weekend.

Man - I was just thinking about the B06040! That machine never got much press here and maybe it's time. I was torn between that and the Flex - bought the Flex, like it but I'd love to try the B06040, just to see if it was less noisy. Only thing, I'm hanging on to my job by my fingertips, can't afford to buy anything untill this economy picks up.
 
KBM kicking but again for me today. Infiniti M35 you know the one with the "hard clearcoat" :)

Talking with Kevin Brown for the first time several months ago was the most educational experience I ever had when it relates to learning paint correction. I thought I was 'knowledgeable'... Kevin Brown is like an Autopilot who has been trying to improve for the last 15 years. When most detailers say they have 10 years experience, they are saying they have 3 months experience times 60 or whatever. They stopped learning a long time ago and their work has never gotten better.



Kevin is the exact opposite, hell it is humbling to speak with him. He has 15 years experience but it is more like 30, easily the most knowledgeable person I have spoken with in terms of the bar bone's science of paint correction and a gentleman to boot!

Bryan, is this 105 or 205, and what machine/color pad/size pad? Would PC/4" LC orange foam be appropriate? And is that pic a one-step or two?



Sorry for all the questions, but wow... this is a whole new ball game.

I'm speechless.... now that my honey-do list is a little shorter, I think I'll go try out my 205 sample.

Or with a rotary and Dynabrade attachment...which now it back on the "buy" list for me after my 2nd G110 died.
 
Can't wait for the complete write up, so the flex is a little harder to use in this set up because it is more complex to control it versus the pc?



I am ordering a flex kit soon with menzerna kit on autogeek.net along with the M105 and M205 because of hearing the results people are getting. I might change it around depending on how the flex works toward it, but we will see. BTW, this will be my first detailing machine. Doing alot of research before i make my finaly purchase.

To those using this method-do you see any advantage to doing the final polishing with the rotary and Ultrafina? I find that on softer paints you can get buffer haze even with finishing pads and polishes on the A pillar and other tight areas when using a DA buffer that I don't experience with a rotary.
