New LCD HDTV - Warranty or no?

Check out avsforum.com for tv info. There are threads for most any major model where you can find out what quirks there are for each.

From my research I think plasma will be the way to go. They just look better than lcd, but the downside is they are a little more fragile and are like a crt when it comes to reflections.

Plasma does look nice, but the burn in problem was going to be an issue for me since I use it for playing my Xbox as well.

Thanks for the tip on avsforum.com - they had some great info for this model!

Hey guys...

I have been wanting an LCD HDTV for a while now and couldn't pass up the offer I found yesterday while at Best Buy. I ended up picking up the following TV...

Samsung - 32" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - LN-T3242H

Works great so far and looks really nice with my Xbox360 hooked up to it; but my question is I did not pay for the extended warranty which is like $100 for four years. I heard that these extended warranties on LCD's are basically scams and Best Buy never actually stands by them. Should I get the warranty or no? The lady claims they will come to my house and do any repairs, dead pixels, etc...

I have 30 days to decide whether to add it or not and would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

No on the warrenty. My brother has a Samsung LCD never had an issue. How do you like xbox. Are you online?

Do you race Forza?

I picked up that same TV a few months ago (still over $1000 then) and picked up the warranty. I read a few reviews on CC website and a few had problems with the TV's (not enough to change my mind). I had the spare $$ so went for it, not sure if I'd buy warranty again for a t.v.. I love mine and I have a PS3 on the way (Thank you mother in-law) I can't wait to see what it looks like.

I bought an Open Box TV from CC (Mitsubishi) and the wife got the warranty for it. So far, no problems but I don't want to take that chance.
