"New Improved" Rain-X Windshield Washer Fluid SUCKS

The old formula is MUCH BETTER with beading.  Scoop it up while you can.  I found some on the shelf buried in the New Improved Formula.
 
Hey, quit sugar coating and tell us how you really feel! Seriously, my wife swears by Rain - X, but she uses the stuff you spray on and then wipe off with water or some method - I don't watch, it's her deal and she's happy with it.


 


Funny story - when I was young and kinda stupid, I put Formular 409 in the washer fluid tank since I didn't have proper fluid. What could go wrong right? Jeeez - first time I used it, the windshield went white and I had to pull over, take off my shirt, wipe that crap off and continue on. Did I mention it wasn't raining, i just wanted to clean off some bugs. Did I mention I was on a date with a hot girl that I was trying hard to impress. She did think it was funny and I guess my manly chest with the postage stamp of chest hair impressed her enough that she agreed to go out again with me.
 
I've seen numerous mentions of the "new improved" version or RainX destroying the washer fluid level sensor in lots of cars.
 
I was wondering if something changed. I swore by the old one enough to tell my brother just to get rain x washer fluid and he wouldnt have to coat it. Worked great for me. Didnt work at all for him. This explains it I suppose.
 
i picked some up a couple months ago. I noticed it was a darker red than before it was light orange, and the water doesnt bead nearly as well. SUPER disappointing since its been the only washer fluid I used for years.
