Same Great Power, Now With More Control

I constantly evaluate our products so we can offer the best tools to help you have fun in your garage. Our 1st generation random orbital brought safe and effective dual action machine polishing to a wide audience. Our 2nd generation orbital set the industry standard for performance with its powerful, 7-amp, 850-watt motor. Striving for perfection, we set out to improve upon this benchmark machine, taking into account thoughtful feedback from our great customers. After rigorous testing, I am proud to introduce the 3rd generation Griot's Garage random orbital. Our new orbital offers the same great power as the previous version, but we redesigned the exterior to achieve a new level of comfort and ease of use. We kept the adjustable handle but added a rubberized grip to it. We added molded hand and finger grips to the housing, along with a domed, rubberized palm grip. We moved the speed control dial and power switch to more convenient locations. Polishing and waxing your paint with a random orbital has never been more easy, safe, and fun. With 6 speed settings, a 5/16" diameter offset, and low-end torque, this machine is ideal for polishing and waxing at any speed. Swirl marks? No problem. Water spots? Piece of cake. Oxidation? Bring it on! I designed the Griot's Garage random orbital to provide you with a safe and easy way to achieve flawless results with minimal work. Not sure whether this is the right tool for you? Learn more about machine polishing in the videos below or give us a call. Powerful enough for a professional. Safe enough for a first-timer. Backed by a lifetime guarantee against defects. Choose from a 10' (18 AWG) or Extra-Long 25' (16 AWG) power cord option that makes working around the entire vehicle a breeze! Includes a 6" hook-and-loop backing plate. Foam Pads sold separately. For additional details and information, watch the videos and see the Product Information tab below.

Has anyone tested this yet? I been looking for a new DA and i been leaning towards the GG but have read alot of complaints about the previous moddels not lasting. And somewhere i read when running on high speed the machine is running alot faster then advertised in some cases twice as fast

That's awesome, looks like the best RO just got a little better, I'll be adding one to my arsenal for sure. Hopefully it allows extended time at speed 6 without the heats issues.

i'm curious if they made any changes to the motor (or calibrated it higher). some reported that the 1st batch of the second generation with the sticker on the side that says," polishing 5-6 and waxing 3-4 were more powerful than the ones that they currently sell now at the moment which says "polishing 4-5 and waxing 2-3 if i'm not mistaken...

Hopefully that rubberized grip isn't the kind that peels if you look at it wrong.

good point, sometimes "new & improved" changes can be worse and better left alone the way it was...

I purchased my 2nd generation GG polisher as soon as they came out. I've not had ANY problems with mine whatsoever. GG's Plainfield, IN distribution center is about 20 minutes away from my house. I may have to run over there sometime to get my hands on this 3rd gen polisher to see how it feels in my hands.

Maybe they just thought so because they followed those recommendations :chuckle:
