New headlamp detailing

I see many here are detailing headlamps on new cars with abrasives. Is the use of an abrasive like M-205 on a new unweathered headlamp gonna remove the UV coating? What type of foam pad, just a polish pad with P/C.

Is it true there is a UV coating on new car headlamps? After polishing the lamps what is the best final product to use to cover, WAX OR SEALENT?

I usually don't polish undamaged headlight lenses. If they are very slightly hazed, pitted or scratched, I'll hit them with M205/PC/LC Orange.

For heavy oxidation, pitting, hazing - wetsanding, then M105/M205.

I know that many are clearcoated, but I don't know if UV protection is being removed by polishing.

I always coat them with the same sealant I'm using on the car.

Again, if they're not damaged, I just seal.:D
