Ben,

When I ordered the detailing kits #4 I believe for 34.99 (the backing plates were on backorder at the time about 2 weeks ago) I got a black pad with ridges which resembles the pads seen in these photos. I assumed you sent me the brand new POXY pad. AM I correct? If so, I am pretty psyched up to use it. I assume the black is a finishing pad.

Interesting... is it any sort of coincidence that the HD Wool looks a lot like the Meguiar's So1o system's light cutting pad?

Nice deal! After testing them today, I was thinking, "I'm going to need more of the orange and green pads." Great reason to buy some 6 packs!

Great timing! As a new owner of the Flex 3401, I am in the market for some new pads. A few questions:

- What is the key performance differences between the dimpled and non-dimpled pads?

- On the 5.5" pad descriptions, you recommend a backing plate no bigger than the 5.25" but then you mention that it works great with the Flex. Would this recommendation be based on using the smaller Flex backing plate?

Very exiting and went to the 3D store to order however...looks like you have to get six of the same color pads to get the 5.99 deal per pad.

The theory is that dimpled pads allows for more air flow so the pad remains cooler. We give the option for each.

The backing plate size is a typo. It should be "Do not use backing plates larger than 5 1/2" so the standard Flex 5.5 backing fits perfectly.

Ben,

The old orange pad was 5.99 each at hdcarcare.com. How different is this new pad with the old one?

Regards.

There are multiple improvements made to the new version of the pads.

1. First change is the black barrier. The new version has a harder and denser barrier. This new one repels liquid better than the old one. This means less polish/wax needed saving money on wasted product.

2. New Stronger Glue. The older version had issues with Flex polishers that would lead to eventual breakdown of the glue between the velcro and the barrier. They created too much heat for the glue. The new one has no issues.

3. Longer lasting. These new pads are much better constructed having a longer life.

4. There is an option of waffle or flat.

4. Switched from 2 pads to 3. This allows for a better choice of pads to work with.

I guess you can say the cutting power is like this. New Cut Pad > Old Polish Pad > New Polish Pad > Old Finish Pad > New Finish Pad.

To sum it up, we now give a better cutting pad, a mid ranged pad, and a finer finishing pad.

Oh, and one other improvement on the 7.5" pads.

They now have a center ring. This helps to ensure the pad is perfectly center and protect the backing plate from cutting through the pad.

Thanks for the quick reply! One last question/request: Would there be any chance that you guys would do a "mix and match" special at your sale prices? It would be really cool to get 6 different pads at your introductory price.

Unfortunately, at this time, there is no mix and match on the 6 pack. However, single pads are discounted from the standard price. There is also discounts for ordering 3 of each.

hmm alright Ben, still I guess its a good deal. I personally wanna try out UNO and see its great cutting abilities as a enthusiast of car care.

Time for a Canadian to get his hands on some new HD :)

Wool pads price isn't changing when I try to order six? :nixweiss

Coming soon, 3 bottles of Uno, x6 orange waffle, x6 reg orange, x6 green waffle, and x6 reg green.

Going to be one expensive order :P

Thanks for letting me know. I will check the waffle qty pricing.

Send me a PM with your name, phone, email and address. I can get you a price on USPS Flat Rate. Should be cheaper than the cart UPS International price. If Canadian Postal is off of strike that is.

Ben, just shipped a Canadian customer her towels today via USPS. I was told to come back today and that it should go through- she's waited 2 weeks for me to ship. :(
