Let me start out saying, Hello, my name is Dave, and I live in Schenectady NY which is minutes from Albany.

I first started cleaning cars for a rental company, and then got a job at a dealership cleaning cars, and now I am a detailer full time. I am by no means a pro but I'm learning as I go.

thanx! i need some help because the last guy took EVERYTHING when he got fired for stealing, where should i post what different tools i need and the different uses? i have no idea what i need, i have a wheel brush, spoke brush, and a general handheld brush. and thats about it, i have a bucket and they want me to use a brush to clean the deliveries (its faster)

im basically here so i can fully detail the trade-ins as well as my car, and service customer cars

Hi Dave, welcome to "The City". I would think one of the best things I could tell you while you getting rolling here is to read, read, read. This will not only stimulate your thought process but help you zone in on which questions to ask. The forums are pretty well organized and many people read the "New Posts" daily. I'm thinking you'll find someone to answer most any question you bring up. There are a good number of Pros on here and a large number of excellent enthusiasts (though they don't carry the title of a Pro, they know their stuff). You'll find what you are looking for.

thanks, i've read things on here and applied them to what i was doing and it worked great, how long does it take to get an answer on average? i have a feeling if i have an issue at work i'll come here instantly

i've read some glass threads and ordered some Eagle One/ CarBrite 20/20 glass cleaner

Welcome from central PA, I usually post in the morning before work the questions I may have about any detail jobs that I have coming up soon and almost always have several replies when I return home the same day. I am a beginner compared to most of the members here so I ask a lot of questions. I also Try to post photos and define my process for every detail I do in the detailers showcase forum and then stay open minded and view any criticism as guidance and opportunity for growth as a detailer. All the criticism I have recieved has definately been constructive as the members here are very respectful and very willing to help. Good luck and again Welcome, TD

i will, the guy that works with me, but doesnt do ANYTHING, criticizes me but if FAR from helpful, hes been detailing for 40+ years so he thinks hes king, thats why im here, to ask questions and get answers.

People here are always willing to help, just remember that you may receive different approaches to the same problem due to peoples styles and techniques.
You just have to find the one that fits YOUR style and comfort level.
