New guy in flyover country

Hello all. I plan to do a lot of lurking on your forum (search is always my friend). There is some incredible expertise running around here. I'm not a professional detailer, and probably couldn't even be considered beginning amateur. However, I appreciate top quality advice on difficulties when I come across them.

I've been meaning (for several years) to get some of my vehicles (and my Dad's) in top shape. Joining your forum was the first step in doing it the right way. I'm done with parts store cleaners and polishes too; for the most part I find them more bark than bite.

I'll take a picture of the interior project I may tackle this weekend. Sure to scare the socks off most sane people. I'll give it the old college try, then go for the more advanced work after that. Of course having it reach mid-90's by 8AM is no fun at all.
 
:welcome: You're going to get addicted in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..... Now be prepared to spend whatever money you have leftover on car supplies.
 
Well your thread title caught me. Color me curious? Just where or what is flyover country?

Don't be so quick to dismiss OTC products, I think you'll find a number of accomplished detailers on this site that can do some pretty amazing things with products from the likes of Meguiar's, Mothers, etc. We tend to focus on the idea that process > product. But join the conversation, there is lots to see and talk about here.

Welcome also the discussion on interior. I am a big proponent of the importance of attention to the detail (of course the pun is intended) on the interior, whether for a customer or yourself. It (the interior) is what you experience 90% of your time with the vehicle.
