NEW Gold Class, first impressions

Beads and runs, eh? #16 does that too. Water beads up nicely but also rolls down the hood.



Keep us updated. The owner of a burger place I go to uses Gold Class on their white ML. They really like how it looks but say it stops beading after about 8 weeks.
 
I don't quite understand the marketing strategy here. Why re-do the GC formula when all their new eggs are in the NXT-line basket? :nixweiss



I never liked the old GC much, but I have since acquired #26, #20, NXT and most recently #16. I've tried all of them, except #16, and like them ALL better than GC so far. I can't see myself ever buying the new GC... just don't see a need. Heck I've already got too many Meguiar's LSPs to choose from. :)



I guess the single most important question would be WHY would a consumer want/need/choose to buy this reformulated Gold Class over the new flagship NXT liquid/paste?

Yep its new packaging.



As for why re-do it, successful companies don't bet the whole farm on one product.

Nope, neither did I. This one is easier to use, but I'm not going to say better until I see how long it lasts. I'm going to do a dark green Trailblazer tomorrow, one that I'll probably drive through January.

My guess is price; the GC I got at Target for $6.97, the NXT was $13.97.



We aren't the target for this product. I bought it on a whim. But I truly believe that we can get great results from ANY decent LSP. The thing I'm hoping to find is that there will be no reason to AVOID some LSPs, in this case GC. The proof for this one will be in "How long does it seem to last?"

It was "almost" three weeks since you've applied GC (I assume the date you posted), any feedback? Is it still hanging in there?



The look BTW is the same as NXT (looking from the pics)...:up

I don't think it's fair to say. The Miata is a driver, but it is also garaged. I haven't put the snows on it yet, so it hasn't been out but maybe a couple times in the meantime. I haven't even washed it in the last few weeks, only ccd'd it. It still looks outstanding, and it should.



It's hard to praise the NEW GC without criticizing the OLD GC. This one has a shinier look, is a little deeper and wetter, and water beads like crazy and then sheets off when the beads connect. I think it's closest in appearance to #16, actually. Maybe a little darker. But it has that "super-waxy" look.

I just used some old GC on my son's camaro and will post pics later. With a PC the Gold Class was easy to apply and remove. The shine is there but then again it is a repaint that finally was ready. We first washed then clayed with soem Zaino yellow clay and then used the GC.
