New fog light on right, hazed one on left=ugly!

After a fender-bender repair on my 95 STS, the right fog light was replaced w/ a new one. It looks great (as does the repair work), but the left fog is now really showing its age, with the contrast between the crystal-clear passanger side one, and the hazy, sand-blasted look of the old one.

My question is this...Is there any way to polish/ sand down and polish the plastic lens so that it looks somewhat new, or at least not as terrible as it appears now?

I have notice others mention headlight polishes, but would these apply to my situation? A problem I have noticed with using polish on it is that the product gets into all the little pits of the plastic, and then ends up looking worse than before. Would it be possible to finely sand the lens to remove the "road scars"?

I hope I don't have to replace the entire light, just for the sake of consistency!

Thanks for any input!

Toothpaste works well on clear plastic (honestly!)

Alot of professional renovators use it.

Done that, and it works quite well. You may have to remove the light and clean the interior out too, just soak it in some warm soapy water for a few minutes and rinse out.

I agree. Quite often, a lense will look dull, yellow and hazy just because dirt has seeped in through the seal in the back and coated the insides.

Some people have used stronger cleaners on the insides, but be careful what you use.
