New feature added to the forum

Ok, it is now starting to cool off in Maryland. Unfortunately I do not have a garage to work out of. Are there any recommendations as to keeping the car clean and looking good, without having freezing water, and frozen hands?



Should I take it to a car wash (where they have the little garages), and bring my materials there?
 
There are a million here. Just do a search on winter. This should answer all of your questions. I did find that most of the people here live in warmer climates and wonder why everyone in the north does not own two cars per person. One for winter, one for showing off. I guess they figure everyone has a two car garage and a circular driveway, to avoid moving cars around all of the time.
 
Your comments are so true. I will run the search on winter. I should have a second car soon (a year or so), but until then, I will take great care of what I drive.

living in new jersey, i share in your concern.

i spent last weekend 'prepping' my car for winter with multiple coats of AIO and SG.

But as for the dead of winter, i'll be at the bay car wash, doing what i can to keep the dirt and SALT off of my car. i also switched to EF PowerWash for the winter..it's more aggressive than the other car washes.

i always thought the high pressure car wash, while not the best thing for your cars finish, was better than the alternative....not washing it at all.

let me ask...those little do it yourself car washes i see....like on rt 4 west...usually next to a Mobil gas station....i couldnt tell when i passed it...do they make u use their supplies...or can u just use their water and your own stuff....figured u might know in Nth NJ...if you have no clue what the heck im talking about...clue me in to where u are gonna go near you....im just over the GWB....it should only take me about 4 hrs to get over...after the sept 11th catastrophe....;)
 
If you're going to use the coin operated car washes, then try to take your own bucket and own car soap and chenille mitt. Don't even think of using the brush. The management won't mind if they know that you're using their water to rinse the car down and then to remove the soap on your car. Laters.
 
I just added a new statistics module to the main forums page.
On your main navigation bar, click on Forums.
This will take you to the page that lists all TID's forum categories.
Under the listed forums, you will see the new module.
It lets you see, for that day, which forums are most popular, who the top posters are, and the latest posts. All of the listings are also linked, so you can click on the link and go right to that particular area, or the member's profile.

This module can do a few other stats, that I will possibly roll out in the near future.
