:nixweiss Haven't had a chance to try it. There was the old formula on the self. Well apparently old, the worker said they switched it. Same concentration, quite a bit thicker, more red in color, smells like cherry licorice.

Pretty expensive at 4.39/16oz, I think. We shall see if it's worth the price. They had a gallon for $20.42. :shocked

This looks similar to the same gallon jug I got last summer from Napa Auto Parts. I picked it up for arund $6 as a manager's special.

New as of when? Looks like what I bought last summer. I really like it.

I can't tell from the pic but is that bottle cylinder shaped. The bottle I bought was. Label and wording is identical to the one I have. Mine is also very thick and smells like cherry candy. Maybe mine is a new formula and the older one you seen on the shelf is a couple years old.

I'm not sure. There was cylinder shaped bottles, with flatter tops which was the suppose old formula.

The newer stuff also came in cylindrical containers with round tops which is the same as what i bought in the flat bottle.:nixweiss

The old stuff did look awfully old!

Corey,

I just checked out the Duragloss web site and the 16 oz bottle they have pictured is different than the one you posted. I have the one that is on the web site. You obviously have the newer formula. I wonder what is changed because I really like the stuff I have.

I bough a 16 oz bottle to try last summer and it's my favorite car wash now. When I finished that bottle I bought a 64 oz bottle. I was planning on getting a gallon on my next trip over the border now I don't know. Let me know how you like the new formula.

I've used this stuff for years, and didn't realize I was using something that you expert detailers would approve. :)

I started using the car wash because I used Duragloss Clear Coat Polish on my 83 944 since I bought it in 86. The polish wasn't bad, kept the Porsche looking pretty good for 18 years I had it. Well, about 16 of those 18 years anyway.

I was told that the Duragloss products were sold to retailers by distributors that traveled around like the Snap-On trucks. I guess they distribute them to chains directly now.

Steve, both Carquest and Duragloss started in North Carolina. This may be why carquest carries the lineup :)

I never thought of that. I'm only about 4 hours from Burlington, NC. Maybe that's why it has been available here for so long.

Well I called Duragloss today (1-800-638-7245) and asked if they changed the formula for their car wash. The customer rep said they did not change the formula they only changed the bottle. He also said they had not changed the formula in 30 years and that the car wash was one formula that "they would not mess with". It seems Duragloss shares the same high opinion of their car wash as I do. :woot:

Been to every NAPA and they don't have it. All they have is over priced, OTC 3M and Mothers products.

I'm interested in trying the Duragloss, but just can't my hands on it here in NJ.

This makes me wonder what was in the other bottles. :shocked

Yeah I wonder why the guy at Carquest told you it's a different formula? Apparently it hasn't been changed in 30 years.

I am just finishing my first bottle of the Duragloss. I had a heck of a time finding it w/o doing mail order. I found it at some funky little no-name auto parts store near my home called Federated. :nixweiss

Good product, fair value. I think I am into my bottle for $3 :p
