New Cyclo Pads

Whatever happened to those new cyclo pads that were comming out? I'm either going to wait for these to be available or get the LC ones, has anybody used these?

I enjoy using the LC ones. Autogeek and the Autopia store sell them.



I'm curious about the Cyclo brand ones also. Anthony Orosco said they're supposed to allow the Cyclo to behave more like a rotary.

How do you like the LC pads as opposed to the standard Cyclo flat pads. I've been doing some homework myself as I just my did my taxes and I've got some money to spend :D



Based on old posts, it seems like the majority like the flat pads on the cyclo as opposed to the VC pads.



I'd love to hear your thoughts on the LC pads and I've had great luck with them on the RO & Rotary...
 
In regards to the new Cyclo paint correction disc's, we are still hoping to get these done by April, at least in time for the World Car Care Expo held here in San Antonio, Texas.



The deal holding it up is finding the right foma backing pads. They can't be too stiff nor too soft.



As for the VC pads.....I prefer the flat pads because the VC pads do not distribute the product as well. I do though really like and prefer their wool pads and I love the fact that they offer their black foam finishing material in the 4in size.



I told Irene to carry those plus maybe the wool pads. I removed 2000 grit sandingmarks with those wool pads and PG.:up

I like the MF pads from TOTL for polishing light scratches using IP and spritzing with a ISA/water 50/50 solution to keep the polish wet longer. I have heard complaints about these pads and I agree that they are a problem against trim, insignia's things like that, but on open contours, they work really well. The flatness of them is the most effective feature IMO. The lack of a full range of pads and accessories is disappointing. The Cyclo has much unfulfulled potential due to lack of accessory support. The Cyclo is relegated to being sort of the "odd man out" among detailing tools for that reason. And its a shame, it is such a "trick" instrument !:sosad
 
Do you mean the Surbuf pads? I've heard not only that, but that they mar the paint. I think someone hear tried them on he Cyclo, they marred and they never took them out of the box again. However, for scrubbing upholstery they're supposed to be ok.

I don't see the 4 inch LC pads at the Autopia store. Do you mean the Sonus SFX pads?
 
The ones the Autopia Store sells are Sonus SFX. The ones Auto geek sells are LC VC pads. Are you saying they are the same pads?
 
If you're referring to flat pads,( yellow and white) I find them the same or so similar whatever differences aren't noticeable.
 
The Autogeek ones are not not flat though....they're VC.

WCD has started carrying their pads also.



The Autopia Sonus pads sure are $$ when you start totaling them by the pair

The Surbuf ones are what I am refering to. In my experience, they did not mar at all. In fact, I bought some for the Cyclo and more for my makita. They did a good job with IP, producing a mirror surface (I misted with ISA/water,50/50 to work the polish down very fine) . They are not very agressive , but what I noticed was a smoothing effect that was pronounced. The problem with these pads is that on the cyclo, they seem to fall apart, especially when going over irregular surfaces. On open flat surfaces they rock ! With these pads technique is important ! :xyxthumbs
 
Without checking those links, I'd say that I'm probably the member who had such lousy experiences with them. I'm sticking to foam. Actually, I'm pretty happy with the regular Cyclo brand pads, but then I have a *lot* of experience with them.

I am testing them on as many different cars as I can at the moment. While testing I also have to figure out what the best technique is for using them as you can't just go to town as you would with just regular Cyclo pads.



Irregular application can lead to boo boo's:shocked



I hope to post up something soon about them.
