RCBuddha said:I ordered some 3.5" backing plates from Danase, and here they are installed:

For anyone: Do any of you polish the cyclo with metal polish?
gbackus said:The rightlook backing plates are 4inches btw, so the performance probably won't be the same. YMMV
RCBuddha said:Are you talking from experience, or from a hypothetical point of view?
FWIW, I'll be the first one to post if this doesn't work to my satisfaction.
gbackus said:I guess I should've been more clear. By performance, I mean "feel", kind of hard to explain. When pressing down on the cyclothe 3 inch pads won't "feel" the same as the 4 inch ones, so you may or may not like them in comparison to the rightlook pads.
I have no idea if it would affect the actually "cutting" ability of the pads though.
RCBuddha said:Thanks for clarifying. I'm sure you meant backing plate and not pads. fwiw, the backing plates I got from danase were 3.5". I'm not sure how much of a difference .5" makes, but I will report my findings.
