New CMA Magic Towel Review with Pics

I didn't mean to imply CG makes all this stuff, far from it. I think they are using the same supplier for many products.

I have to say I have them all, Pak Shak, Cobra, Sonus (Nice), Viking, plus too many others to name and honestly the CG towels ( at least the new ones I got 2 weeks ago) are as good if not better than anything I have ever tried. Forget about the fact they are a fraction of the cost, just the towel quality is tops. This from a guy with 300+ towels, some 5 years old and going strong, back from Tom on Ebay.....When he was "The Source"

I ran out of Micro Restore, ordered some CG microfiber cleaner, smells identical, works identical. For the price of two 16 ounce bottles I got a gallon delivered. I even use the Micro restore bottle for the handy measuring cap.

This was my first CG purchase so Im hardly shilling for them, just a happy customer. I would recommend you give some of their products a try, seems odd to get a gallon for what a 16 ounce bottle costs I know. I will be ordering again soon, they impressed me with the product, service and then the price.

I never meant to say they MFG everything, just that they sell the same product for less. I have no clue if the make anything themselves?

I still find it hard to beat the old thick all cotton towels. It's easy to get sucked in to all this so called miracle stuff but the problem is that next month something else will be claiming to be the best.

I just started using the Micro fiber towels and have some real nice old cotton towels. So far I'm not impressed by the Micro towels and CAN"T honestly say that I see any improvement. In fact I still really like the cotton towels. Mike

Mike,

When you get a moment, take a look at this:

It's hard to find cotton towels that won't micro-marr the finish. I use DF Towels occasionally but for me mf is the only way to go. Still, do what works best for you.

I did mean the Magic Towel, not sure where I picked up Miracle. I think its another product from another vendor. Man, I must be getting old!

My point is that I am not sure you can verify it is the same product.

Ah crap what's wrong with them?? I placed an order and went ahead and picked them up as well.

They are thin as paper. They are see through! Zero nap, no plushness or softness. There is nothing redeeming about them. Good for wheels, door jambs and interior work.

Costco MF's are a 100 times better believe it or not.

Trust me, cancel your order. I wouldn't steer you wrong. You'll be bummed when you get them.

Are you referring to the 16"x16" CG blue or yellow towels. I just looked at them and couldn't believe the price. I may have to pick some up. I'm looking for a good drying towel as well and their large towels are a bargain too.

Edit: Ah, nevermind...I just saw their ultra-plush towels. They seem like a great deal and extremely dense.

Without knowing the source it would be difficult to be sure that they are the same towel. Other side of that is other than color(s) and edging, I have a few of these towels from different vendor's that reasonably seem to be the same. I don't see anyone being able to have a "custom" towel manufactured and being able to make money at $5 each. I think that's a reasonable statement.:)

You can tell that some of the boutique towels come from different factories. The manufacturing is different and the plushness or edging differ. It's also possible that one can request different characteristics from the same plant.

Lee,

I purchased a couple of the Magic Towels from CMA a few months ago. They look like the one in your pics. You mentioned that these are new, is the silk edging one of the indicators of the new (and improved?) towel? I think I have the same one, but just checking.

Yeah, I do like the Pakshak Ultra Plush better than the Magic Towel. That said, I still do like the Magic Towel. I've purchased a TON of different MF towels to see what each are like and am in the process of trimming down and selecting my go-to for each task.

Not sure if you've already tried, but I'd suggest giving the Monster Fluffy from Detailer's Paradise (Ranney also sells them) a try. I got one as a gift recently and I tried it as a final QD wipe down after applying Natty's Blue and loved it. Super soft and yet didn't seem to soak up the QD that much. Excellent towel, but not sure if this is one that I would see myself buying and using a lot of though.

I am working on getting some. Very curious. Thank you for reminding me. I need it to remain the King of All Microfiber. ;)

Spilchy you were right these towels are very thin and I can see through them slightly. My WCD towels are a lot thicker and my pb mega plush are waaaaaay better then these.

CMA some time recently introduced a more refined version of their highly regarded Magic Towel which now has silk edging and 221,000 threads per square inch. I tried it and was impressed.

Here's the towel pic with some Z-8 I had just used:

Results on quarter panel of Z-8 using the Miracle Towel:

Conclusions:

1. Very soft and dense fibers make for wonderful plush towel for QD, final buff, and interior work.

2. Decent price at $9.99 for package of 2 (on sale now).

3. Nice dark blue border.

4. Tag left on which is a no-no but is easily removed.

Highly recommended.

I also got the CMA Dragon Fiber Glass Cleaning Towel and it works very well also.

It looks like CG chubbie 8.75 mm has 300,000 threads per square inch...almost 1/3 of more thread and at almost 1/2 the price if you buy 12...

Maybe...but the CG ultra plush is 10x softer (and looks very much like the one silver lexus has pictured). I bought both a few weeks ago.
