new car - what to do

just got a new car (07 s2000) not sure what maintanance to do to keep it sparkling as long as possible.



is all i really need to do for now just using carnuaba wax since it's new?



what would you use to clean the interior. i've read a damp cloth for the dash and maybe the door panels. i can't recall if the door panel is completely leather (yes, that new that i've not paid attention yet).



on leather seats, what's a good clearner w/o having that greasy stuff on your clothes (have to dress nice to work, unfortunately).



is there anything i can do to prevent brake dust from caking (hardened build-up). i read a film of wd-40 would make it easier to remove, but not sure about the caking.



what about the top? it's cloth i believe. how do you maintain that stuff? (it's a convertible)



on the bad side, i noticed what looked like swirling/spider web on a 3" diameter in the trunk corner. told them to fix it. now the swirl seems worse. do i need to cut and polish to even it out? not that obvious, but i know where/how to look and it bugs the crap out of me.

For the top, you can use an APC.

Leather seats- Tons of choices, I like the Autoglym conditioner.

Get a good Carnuba wax and you could be great for quite a while.

As far as brake dust, you cant prevent it, but you can put a sealant on your rims that will protect them and make it for easier cleanup.

1) A good interior protectant and some microfibers, OTC Megs Quick Interior Detailer or 303 Aerospace Protectant

2) For the seats a conditioner/cleaner, OTC turtle wax leather conditioner is decent or 303 aerospace dilluted 1:3

3) Brake dust, use whatever carnuba you use on the car on the wheels, it will help but frequent and gentle cleanings is the best prevention.

4) For the fabric top, 303 Fabric Protectant will work well.

5) As for the marring/webbing/scratches, yes it most likely needs to be polished (hand or machine). You might be able to conceal it with a glaze and wax (see below) if you can live with the knowledge that it is still there.

6) pick up a good glaze and wax like Danase Wet Glaze and P21S.



All these products are availabe online @ danase, excel, topoftheline, autogeek, etc.

P.S.............I <3 S2000's, enjoy it! Maybe throw on a J's exhaust, mugen hardtop, teins, j's header, arc intake, and some volks/works!

You asked the question, i was going to. I was wondering what to use to keep the paint looking like new as long as i can.
