New car smell

Got the Hang of it Now
Anyone know of a product that gives that new car smell? I have tried several and none of them "really" smell like a new car.

Daos

The new car smell is called out gasing which also causes the blue hue on the windows on the inside......However I have never seen a product that can recreate that smell.......I've smelled some leather sent ones that are OK....for me I use PB Natural look in the vents and a spray under the seats and love it so do my customers

I bought a bottle of this:

...over the weekend at WalMart (new car scent). It was only a couple bucks for the 8 oz bottle. One spray under each seat and it smells great.

I dont think that you will ever get anyhting that smells like new cars.. I was told by someone that the smell comes from the ordors released from the new plastics and leather things inside the car.

You could buy new interior.......that will give it the odor you want (Ok, bad joke). Anyway, I'm with you when it comes to recreating the smell. I am selling my 2000 Jetta and wanted to smell up the interior to give that new car affect to it and can't find anything that works.

That new car scent is a dressing of some sort. I remember working at at Mercedes Dealership and they had this stuff in a 55 gallon container.

go to walmart and in the auto cleaning section pick yourself up a can of ozium new car scent smell. I did a quick google search for it online here is a link so you know what it is http://housewares.hardwarestore.com...ozium-air-freshener-new-car-scent-112349.aspx It cost $4.xx at walmart. trust me get this stuff and you will not be dissapointed. Its the closest thing that i have ever seen for that new car smell.

I had the opportunity to try this out the other day. IMO, smells nothing like a new car, but rather a powder type smell. Does a good job at masking odors..

I tried the ozium New Car from Auto Zone then Walmart , I returned both it smelled like dry cleaning chemicals and smelled up my car for 3-4 days.

The Reg Ozium does not smell like new car but it will nutralize the odors leaving the car with a fresh scent.

I've always liked Ozium New Car smell to recreate that scent. While it is really hard to recreate the toxic fumes that new car smell actually is, I think this product does a good job.

Many new cars are eliminating this smell due to the problems it causes. My '05 didn't have any smell in it at all. I was kind of disappointed, but that's ok. As soon as I got it home and conditioned the leather it smelled like new leather anyway. :) That is even better than new car smell.

If you wanna create the toxic fumes then your on the right track with New Car by Ozium

1) Who manufactors Ozium?
2)Do they have a web site.

just putting my 2cents in i think i am like most and have tried almost everything when it comes to the new car scent. i aggree on the ozium new car smell a lil on the chemical side but the orginal scent works great for me it will eliminate almost any order. the other car scent product that i find last for awhile even though it not the new car scent are the super stones the really leave a scent for about 2 weeks or longer. i normally use 3 in my expo which last up to a month or longer and swap 1 out, normally the oldest 1 when i could remember.
like i said i use orginal scent ozium now because it leaves my expo fresh and minus the bad orders.

I agree with Randy W on the use of several super stones, discarding an old one when replaced with a new one.Lately they have been hard to find or non existent. I purchased a bottle of Medo, Auto Expressions , New Car Scent asfter reading the earlier review. I think the fragrance has a chemical scent.I will use a few more time before deciding if I will continue to use. Meanwhile open to more comments to get back to that new car smell.

I use the New Car x-mas pine tree at times. There is no chemical odor and this thing smells great. I'm done trying Ozium New Car this stuff is garbage imo.
There should be WARNING label for people who are Asthmatic on the package label.

I tried the Vanila ozium and i didn't care for that either it smelled like burnt carmalized sugar. The only ozium scent so far that i like is their original scent.

Good thread here...

I've thought about this before, and I think much of that "new car" smell is from the brand new carpets. Have you ever smelled a freshly carpeted room/house? The smell is actually similiar.

I've only been able to maintain some of that new car smell in leather cars- keeping the leather clean and more importantly, conditioned. Leather scented conditioners help...
