New Car Plastic Protectant Residue Removal?

I did about 15 searches and couldn't find anything (maybe wrong combo of words)

We picked up a brand new "Graphite Pearl" 2006 Honda Accord Coupe EX V6.

We know the salesguy and he know's how anal I am about my cars, so I made sure he didn't have them touch the car at all!

I did notice about a 2-3 inch wide by 5-6 inch long set of very minor scratches on the roof that I'll start with #9 SMR and then go to DACP if I have to.

So when we got there, there are a few big residue spots on the hood from that white plastic protectant they ship the cars in.

Tomorrow I'm gonna do a good detail on it, but I didn't want to overkill with DACP on the hood for these residue spots.

Here's what I'm gonna do tomorrow:

Clay

Meguiars Glaze

NXT

NXT Tire Shine (just got a sample, so I wanna try it out)

and Stoners on the windows (still has sticker residue on them as well as some actual stickers.

Thanks!

David

Not sure how big the residue spots are, but you could try soaking the area with WD40 then wiping up with a cotton towel. An alcohol rub would also probably work.

Since you're gonna do a full detail anyway, just wash, polish and wax the area afterwards and it will look better than new!
