I have noticed these micropits on my new (<1mo old) car. I can see well enough (15/20) that these are sharp impressions in the paint.

I have no clue what this product is/does. It says it removes contaminants but it bonds to the glass?

Diamondite® Spray Clay is an environmentally safe, nontoxic aerosol foam. It is applied to the affected surface by gently rubbing the foam with a mildly abrasive scrub sponge. After the spots and scales are removed by the rubbing action the resultant haze is wiped away using Diamondite® Glass Cleaner. Diamondite® Spray Clay and Diamondite® Glass Cleaner are both skin safe. Try them on painted surfaces too!



so it removes stuff by the product + rubbing



How much is this product? Does it actually work?
 
Lots of cars have those micropits. I know my truck does. Just was looking at them this evening. Friends truck has them too. Saw them when we were working on it at 11pm w/ flood lights.
 
The questions are.



1. How bad is it? (Consequences)



2. Can I get my dealer to fix?



3. Should I try to get my dealer to fix?
 
Recieved a Diamondite kit today. The "Spray Clay" actually works! My wife's hard water spotted windows are clean and clear.



I only did half of the first window to "see" if it worked. Man did it ever. It does require elbow grease and for those of us who use our trusty PC I forgot what elbow grease was! My test vehicle was pretty stained and did require 2 applications in a few spots. The more you work it the smoother it seemed to get just like a clay bar.



I do highly recommend using a MF towel for removal!!! :up



I also applied the "Shield" to the front windshield. Can't comment on that yet, but I hope it works great. It was a little more difficult to remove completely and I hope I got it all.



I will say again the Spray Clay worked better than anything else I have used because it didn't lighten them it removed the water spots on the glass.



I bet you could get at least 2-3 cars done with (1) 6oz. can. I did a minivan and still feel like I have quite a bit left.



So for etching it works as for micropits it may have filled some "micro" sized ones, but it didn't hide obvious to the eye pits. Which is not a claim they make. It is dark here so I can't comment on the optical clarity of it all yet, but it should be perfect!
