NEW Autoglym High Definition Wax

Oh no it's available locally now so it's a OTC product and not boutique any more so it must suck. Only stuff you order on line and pay out your butt for and is hyped to hell is good stuff:nana:

Crap... you are right! I'm going to throw mine out!

:bolt

This does muddy the best OTC wax competition though. It really makes me wonder, how this stuff gets shelf space at Walmart when something, American made, like Collinite, gets no love at all. It really is mind boggling, how of all the products out there, this wax got the shelf space?

Autoglym is not something I would expect to see OTC any where. I personally have never seen it on a shelf. Even more strange to see it at Walmart.

Maybe for a company looking to get involved with sales in the US on a large scale, they thought it would be a good idea to hit up the largest marketing channel here. I mean, everyone goes into Wal-Mart... Just on People of Wal Mart I've seen pictures of the regular customers as well as Snoop Doog, Ric Flair (whoooo), Flavor Flav, and a couple others.

Just a guess.

+1. It does seem odd to see it at Wally's. I hope we see some of the other products there in the near future. My shelves are already full of waxes and sealants.

That's the thing though, it is very tough to get shelf space in any major retailer. Everyone wants their product on a shelf, the stores end up refusing most products. A $35 wax from England seems like a very unlikely product to say the least.

Maybe Wal Mart bought them out, are gonna get us all hooked, and then change the branding to Sam's Choice HD Wax. :D Ha!

IMO it woulda been a lot better for them to stock Autoglym's SRP, but I'm sure the big factors were price/mark-up/etc. considerations and I bet the people making the decisions know nothing about detailing.

The full page ad they had in Car & Driver last month listed several stores as retailers for Autoglym. Good for them, it's about time we can buy premium products locally. Maybe the price will go down too.

At $35, didn't it already go down?!:p

What stores did it list as retailers?

Interesting....I just saw this stuff in our local walmart the other day. (I am located in WV). I was wondering about the quality and now i'm wanting to try it. Although right now I am stuck on Collinite 845...I love the stuff.

Any results in term of durability?

Not sure about test on this board..

But in a test on another board, it was one of the only one's still around after 6.5 months. Supposedly it lasted as the poster said during the coldest and longest periods of weather (overseas) in 20 plus years.

The poster said it was still lasting, but decided to strip his motorhome of all products that had lasted.
