Well today I got my 7336! Im so excited about it, I ordered the following LC stuff from Autogeek:

Flexible Backing Plate 5" x1

Dual-Action 6.5" Orange Light Cutting Pad x2

Dual-Action 6.5" White Polishing Pad x2

Dual-Action 6.5" Gray Finishing Pad x1

Plus the following from Poorboy's

SSR2.5 x1
SSR1 x1

Getting very excited to try this stuff out, anyways did I get the correct backing pad, on the site it said it would be ok but just want your guys opinions!

Everything looks good from my point of view. Some people may say that a flexible backing plate may be better or more forgiving but I have both and they don't seem to make too big of a difference but one is for a rotary (flex) and a hard one for the PC. Anyways be sure to get some good before and after pics of your truck when you end up doing another full detail with all of then new products! Good luck.

Ahhhh . . . the giddy excitement of your first PC. I remember it like it was . . . well it was just a couple of months ago actually. I haven't actually used mine on my own car yet, but I have used it on a couple of other people's cars. Probably won't actually use it on mine until the spring. :( I should move back to Florida and take my PC with me.

Budman, so if you dont use a flexable one do you use the one that came with the PC? The one that came with mine is "semi" flexible...but since I dont have my 5" LC flexible one I dont have anything to compare it to. I will be sure to post pics!!! :D :D

I dont know why but I am way to old to be this excited about this stuff....anyways now its all about finding a place to spend a whole day!!

The backing plate the 7336 comes with is for sanding. It doesn't have the velcro necessary to attach it to velcro backed pads. I don't even know where mine is anymore and I just bought the machine 6 or 8 weeks ago. This is how useless that backing plate is.

I actually have the 7424 which came with a really crappy foam polishing pad glued onto a BP so I bought the I have now before the flexible BPs were popular I believe ( a few years ago). For the PC I don't think there will be any difference between the two (maybe i'll pick a flexible up and see for myself) but I sure don't have any complaints with the BP or the PC for that matter.

here's a thread where someone got the pc7336 for only $69.97 at there local lowes!! just printout the picture of the receipt and take it in for them to call and verify the price, and it shouldn't be a problem. http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=64282

p.s. mods if this is a problem, please delete this and let me know. thanks. :innocent:
