NEW 416 WAX (Rumors)

Tom, as I am new to this site I really read what you wrote. I am not familiar with the way things work in a forum. Normally it is not par for the course to keep someone within the "unwritten" ( Your version of "unwritten") rules via ridicule. But if thats the way it works than I can follow. I do understand what you wrote. A little ribbing to get your point across is easy and less painfull to the person who is being " self-correcting". In the spirit of fitting in at autopia how does a group self-correct someone? Would it not mean that to self-correct would be to fix the problem on his or her own? Maybe the group could have just corrected them via ridicule....LMAO. You touched on Clinton's missspellings and poor grammar. Have you read your post? You should see if Clinton has time to proof read your content before you make another one. If CAPITAL LETTERS were living beings and had a way of writting back to you, I would imagine they would please ask you to stop the abuse. This ridicule thing is great. Kidding aside, this post was not made to start a debate about the moderators. Or to get into "Ridicule" between ourselves. It was to answer a few questions that were asked. I think we have wasted enough of other peoples time with the back and forth comments. Let us stick to the topic at hand.

The Crew @ 416

You've sure caught on quickly to bulletin board coding and internet acronyms to not be proficient on a computer or have an pre-existing email account.

You aren't allowed to advertise your product here, so this thread is essentially useless. A simple, "Clinton doesn't work for us; sorry for the inconvenience is all that was needed."

Your approach to the situation will get you nothing but aggrevation and distrust on this board.

Understood and agreed, but the group consists of multiple personalities and some will act one way and others another. Writing ex post facto about why a group does things is different from saying what it/they should do.

Fair point. :up

Not implying anything, but that caught my attention as well. Maybe he's a fast learner. :nixweiss

This post was never the intent to advertise. I even said our products were not for sale. I have never given a single inch of my company information. Someone elese spoke of our products. I came in to set the record straight. Thats it. The post and comments just blew up. I don't like to have to defend myself but I have no idea what bulletin board coding is. And I learned the phrase (short form) LMAO from law and order on T.V. Thats the only internet acronym I have used in all my posts. My only reason to stay in this forum is to learn more about the craft of detailing that I have choosen. Thats it. I read the posts and maybe I answer a few posts here and there to help others. So if it's possible, everyone move on. I am not going to comment on anything unless it is detail related from this point on. Thanks to everyone who took the time to write feedback positive or negative. Thats the way w all learn.

416 Auto: I don't consider your posts as advertising, but this is the Internet and even on the best communities (Autopia included) there will always be similar reactions when someone simply hypes something up with no firm details, and on these boards, pictures are worth more than a thousand words.

I'd love to try your product(s), so I do hope they become more widely available, but I won't believe any claims you make until fellow members have had their take on it and I've tried it for myself. That's the way it is for me. I'm sure others as well, because some products have really been blown up and then found to fall short.

If the following comments are non-biased and professional than I'm sorry my judment is so off-kilter. These moderators are here to sort out and help out the members not bash and judge. To judge without research first ???? I have wasted enough time on the Moderators. Their actions and comments speak for themselves.

I use it all the time. I'm shocked nobody has ever heard of it!

This secretly engineered synthetic polymer, carnauba, selant nano technological "wunder" wax protects for 18 months as it forms an invisible, micro thermal shell, that acts as a negative ion charge, repelling all forms of contaminate damage, providing lasting UV protection.

Why are you guys always so skeptical? I don't get it.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Take it easy man. You're dealing with VERY knowledgeable folks on this board who take automobile detailing VERY seriously. Also, that wasn't a Moderator reply, but the owner of Autopia and the Autopia car care store.

When "Clinton" made those posts, anyone with half a brain knew immediately that something was VERY fishy especially that not a single sole here heard of your product. Hence the joking around with some of the responses, mine included. All too often we have watched people chased out of here making sure the boot doesn't get lodged between their cheeks.

With your website going live in a few weeks with the ability to online order, the folks here at Autopia can be your best friends (or your worst enemies) by lining your pockets with some serious cash if your products are top notch.

Best of luck. As a result of this post alone, I know many here are awaiting your products now and they will reviewed here. Like it or not, if you want to break into our market, it's in your best interest to be our buddy. People here are very fickle about folks' personalitites.

416,

I have learned alot from this site. I read everyday and sometmes twice. I have seen reviews from many of the pros here and have read them all very carefully. Some reviews are great and some leave you wondering. The post from Clinton sounds definately like somebody pushing a product. If you are confident in your product and stand behind what you claim, I would recomend getting in touch with some of the guys who post regularly in the click and brag section and give them a sample. Most off those guys are professionals and do seem to give an unbiased perspective on the product they review. I can see how you can be upset but your anger is being taken out on a moderator who sees the post by Clinton as we all do. It definately seems like an ad. Re-read the post with an open mind or let somebody else read it and ask them if it sounds like somebody hyping a product for the reason of selling it. Please take my advice and give a sample to one of our pro detailers and let him write a review. Thats what this forum is here for. Testing care apperance products and reviewing them. Anybody else agree? :nixweiss

416 does have a valid point in that anytime that a newbie posts about a product and gives it good reviews a few posters go on "spam alert mode". I know-cause it happened to me.

True but that's the moderators job to deal with it. If _ member starts calling someone a spammer who isn't what has that accomplished? nothing but more trouble for the moderators to deal with.

I'm always amazed as to how these threads can blow up. After methodically reading through this entire post, it's very interesting to see just how things transpired. All because "Clinton" started a thread about some miracle wax. I applaud 416 Auto for taking the time to clear things up. Stand-up move, as far as I'm concerned. I have never understood how so many of us can get so up tight...about car care products. I'm not removing myself from the list, either. I, too, have sucummed to the hype now and again. I think we should give 416 Auto a fair shake. I mean he DID make the effort to correct some "mis-information".

Welcome, 416 Auto..I truly hope you haven't been scared away. :nervous2:

I think I can speak for the majority here, and safely say that we all agree with you in that we all appreciate 416 Auto for taking the time out to clear things up. Also, to reply to why you've "never understood how so many of us can get so up tight...about car care products", it's not a matter of *being up tight*, it's a matter of, we don't like to be taken advantage of. We are a very laid back, and understanding community, but if we smell a rat, be assured that we will be the first to call them out.

I think it is cool that he makes his own wax.

If i were up in Canada i would love to see how it is done, and chat about what makes a good wax and what ingredients make a "bad" wax.

Thanks for the info, but maybe you could start a post about how you made the wax you use through trial and error. What results you got with various ingredients, and what hurdles you had to cross to get what you wanted out of a suitable wax.

I am sure you could make it very interesting with out revealing any specific info you want to protect.

I am seriously interest in this, and i think many others are as well.

I read this thread, and i hope you dont have a sour taste for this site. If you give us a chance, there are really top shelf people here. Some of the "ribbing" you may have experienced happens when people share hours and hours a week with eachother, we get to know one and another, its like a locker room at times.

For the record...........I've witnessed a few firestorms here on this site. For some reason, just the mention of "Zaino" or "Chemical Guy's" seems to inflame the passions of some within "Autopian Nation". Apparently we can add "416 Auto" to this list as well. It just amazes me how passionate we all are regarding our beloved detailing products, here at Autopia. I really enjoy being a member of this community & I would hope that we can all continue to build relationships and respect one anothers opinions. I've been extremely impressed with many of the well respected members here. Their knowledge & experience has really been helpful to me. To me, Autopia is a melting pot of people with varied ages & experience. However, we can all tell the difference between sh*t & shinola!

On the lighter side.........Locker room humor does exist here at times. And to that I say........I'll turn 37 years old in October & I have a hairy back!!

No, This forum has not left a bitter taste in my mouth. I think it is great. If you read through the posts there is a ton of information to be found. Plus there is a ton of people with the same passion as me. How can you go wrong. I know where the mod's are coming from. They have to deal with spamming and trolling all the time. They deal so we can browse around worry free.

JBM, If a mod says it's O.K to write information about how we make our products I would love to. My only fear is that it will bring my company alot of attention during the process. I don't want to spam. Like I said if they say it's cool I would be happy to do so.
