It is intimidating. I got my Private Pilot's certificate in the late 80s and flew in and out of airports all over Central and North Florida. I think the wake turbulence from the wing vorteces are more of a problem than the engines though for a plane flying behind a large airliner. The engine thrust doesn't extend nearly as far back as wake turbulence does.
 
I'd love to see what would happen if they put a modern race car with full ground effects and spoilers pointed straight into a blast like that.

I do believe they said in the video that they could only leave the engines at full throttle for 20 seconds as it would start ripping up the tarmac after that so I assume the race car wouldn't last that long :D
