Neglected Vehicles Part II

OK, now that we found out that a lot us ignore our DD, we all provide our customers with the best, the question now is what products would we use on our on vehicles vice the customers. and what we would do differently.

LOL i was just going to post a question like this yesterday. "what do your daily drivers look like??" type question. i spent a few extra hours yesterday hitting my scion xb. it was my first time trying out the hitachi on a complete correction. well lets just say i need to go back and get the holograms out.

I used:

CG WNG in foam cannon

clay w/lube

CG premium blue wheel cleaner

hitachi rotary

white ccs pad

CG wet mirror finish

instant brilliant shine wax

the finish is now very deep and very few marks left. i was going to do a full correction, but i only had 2 hours. today i'm going back and trying CG scratch and swirl be gone, black ccs pad. hopefully i will get the holograms out

My interior always looks like trash and it makes me feel bad. I hate doing interiors so I often neglect mine. For the exterior of my car, the quick and dirty is a wash/clay/polyseal once every 3 months.

I give my detailing vehicle (Honda Element) a correction each spring - typically only needs a light polish. I then add a fresh coat of wax every 2 months. I always at least do an exterior wash and quick detail wipedown before leaving for a job.

my car gets washed religously once a week.

i add a fresh coat of pinnacle signature series II when i feel like it (usually every 2 weeks or so)

i clay when i need too.

usually i clay the hatch area every 2 months when it gets rough, and fully clay the car every 3 months.

fat people + small car interiors just dont mix for me, thats my reason for not shampooing and keeping my car interior perfect! :)

I always go for perfection on my cars if I have the time, if not then I can do multiple days if needed, I'm the PERFECT customer, no time is to long for my baby! plus I can bribe my 3 year old and get her to clean the car out, shes a machine never stops and works for food and water guns :)

I don't have the luxory of stocking up on different products just for my own personal use. My cars get the exact same chemicals and products my customers get. Although my explorer is usually trashed out. I never get a moments peace to actually sit there and detail my own car. Usually a quick wash and wax every couple of weeks. When the interior gets so bad I can't stand it anymore I find time. But putting in on average 12 hours a day on customer cars 6 days a week I really don't want to do my own car if I can avoid it.

I treat every car like it is my own so there is no difference in products or processes I use on my own personal vehicle.

Grammar Police anyone?

I'm tracking what he's saying until I hit the part of the sentence saying "...vice the customers". Without that, the rest doesn't make sense. I'm not flaming--just don't know what he means.

backwoods lex, there was a previous post where I asked the question on who negelects their own cars because we were too busy taking care of our customers cars or having other interest. This question is do we profeesional detailers use other products on our vehicles vice what we use on our customer vehicles.

I think that if the word vice were changed to versus, more of us would follow along.

Me? My 16 year old black Miata gets the Klasse Twins (SG x2) and S100 about 6 times per year.

My car is the testing grounds for the products I use on customers cars. That said I cannot put Ultima PPG on every car because of the time constaints.

I have not washed my POS daily driver Corolla since I sold my BMW and bought a motorcycle... in July... of 2007... :sadpace: don't ban me please

I'm going to detail it to perfection as soon as I find some time, but I told myself it must be done before August.

I did do a complete interior detail though and it looks as perfect as it can... lots of Meg's APC+, stoner, 303, etc.. exterior will match it soon
