Got the call to detail this daily driven F-150 Lariat for a friend's uncle. Truck has over 230K on it. I doubt she's ever seen an ounce of wax/sealant in her life. The truck was severly swirled and oxidized.

Process:

Wash with Gold Class Shampoo, 2 bucket.

10:1 Castrol Super clean on wheels/tires and engine.

DACP with Meguiars Red Cutting pad on PC (x2 on some parts)

Topped with old forumla Zaino

#34 QD (it's all I had on me - end of my season, letting my supplies run low)

Mothers Chrome Polish on wheels

3:1 HyperDressing on wheels and engine.

30:1 TOL Leather cleaner on seats

GoldClass Leather cleaner on seats

Sonus Protectant on dash/plastic

Stoners Glass Cleaner

Sorry, no interior pics. The lighting was pretty horrible, the buffing was done on the inside of their family business, a maching/welding/stamping place, so some poor overhead lighting and window lighting, so I appologize for those.

Huge improvement! Was the paint hard enough that you could go from DACP and a burgandy pad without marring?

I guess in the owner's mind, their truck is good for another 230,000 miles!

There was some light marring on it, but again, the improvement was huge. I quoted him a price without seeing it, a little below what I would normally charge for a SUV/Truck, so I earned every penny of it. Sure, It could have been better/perfect, but not for what he paid me!

I guess he was on the fence about selling the truck for something new, and probably won't be selling it now that it's nice and shiney!

Im very suprised you didnt get micro marring from DACP and a cutting pad.

DACP and a cutting pad is also the combo i use but i ALWAYS have to follow up with #80 or #82 with a polishing pad.

good improvement.

you likely didnt have a rotary...but....coulda used one!!

that was a big undertaking with PC !

maybe could have used a 'filler' stage after the #83.

Nice work!

Did it have any "heat checks" in the clear on the hood? Have seen one and heard of other black fords that have small "cracks" in the clear, but under the surface.
