Need Wax Recommendations

I admit I have some serious issues with the Reflections Spray wax. FYI, I bought this bottle last year and never used it. VERY thick stuff...like spraying Crisco or something of equal consistency.

I followed the directions, spray and wipe, let the haze form...etc. I did the entire car, let it haze, and when I went back to wipe it off, spray wax had hardened to a near-unremoveable substance. The only way I get buff it off was to use some other spray detailer to reactivate it, and then use more MFs to wipe it all off.

I'm thinking of sticking with AW for a LSP/spray product. I'm wondering if anyone has used Griot's Garage Spray-On Wax, and what their thoughts were?

Evidently, they've reformulated it now and sprays on/off like a QD. I think mblgjr has the new formula and loves it.

Listen to Paul, DigiDan!

Besides, lots of insiders say that the "differences" are practically imperceptible with the CG XXX/Danase/Natty's/Natty's Blue wax (plural; hint). I'd choose the most cost effective...

The Collinite recommendations are good when you know how to apply it VERY thin. It'll be easy then, but when you slap on a thicker layer, well, major PITA. The 845 is easier than 476.

The FK1 1000P is similar, with great durability, and a very handsome look on light colors.

But it seems that you like liquids a bit better, so I'd recommend Meguiar's #21 as well. When you love wetness, you can try out #26.

However, Opti-Seal's ease of use/optical impact/value is unbeatable IMO. And it is in your price range!

I haven't tried Bob's Danase wax yet, but out of what I have...I'd say DP Max Wax is worth a try. It's easy to use with decent durability for a carnauba wax.

I've got the Meg's #26.....makes me hungry when I apply it with that smell of banana bubble gum!

I just thought that it didn't last as long as I liked. I'm doing all the right prep with claying first, use the PC with AIO if I need to polish it up before waxing.

The car is dark metallic green. I think alot of the durability and longevity that I'm not seeing is because of the color of the car, and that I'm in the Midwest. I've read that heat can be devastating on the detailing products, and my car sits in the sun during the day at work.

AW seems to have provided the best slickness to stand up to pollen, dusty rain drops, etc.

I was thinking about trying Chemical Guy's Extreme Depth Liquid Carnuba Creme wax....they claim it has X-seal in it to combat the harshness from the sun. ????

ROFL

I'm learning a lot....I offer many thanks in the form of partly cloudy days to shield your rides from the formation of evil waterspots.
