Need to Remove my Tint...it Finally Happened to me.

My last ticket was for having my entire windshield tinted 35%. I have 5% on the rest of the windows. The ticket was only for the windshield though, which is illegal to tint, except for a strip at the very top. I received a ticket for a little over $70. I could have removed it and then brought the car somewhere for them to drop the citation (cop said I would only have to pay around $4 if I went that route), or I could just pay the ticket in full. I chose option number 2.



I only had the tint on for a couple of weeks prior to receiving the ticket. The front windshield alone costed me $100. So, I figured I'd take my chances this time and just pay the fine.

Forget the ammonia unless you like inhaling it, forget razor blade scraping unlike you like chance of cutting something (which would be heater lines in rear, or your finger, or whatever).



Steamer is enough (I have not tried heat gun). Heat up one corner, use razor blade to grab underneath all of the layers to start, and then pull away as you are steaming. If there is any residue left use citrus cleaner. Voila.
