I have been reading these forums non stop for almost a month now about 2 hours a day and I can't believe the collective info here! :bow

I just bought a great car that is in need of some TLC in a few spots. The paint is being taken care of since i just took everyones advice and purchased the PC7424. Now the interior needs some attention.

The following 2 pics are of the drivers seat wear and tear from teh last owner of the car. If anyone has any ideas how I may be able to take care of these cracks and wear I would seriously appreciate it.

I Live in Kingston Ontario so anything locally would be great. I am leary using anything on these seats as I am petrified to ruin them. I have painted leather before but it was a jacket and was not going to get alot of wear. Please help!

No repair other than replacement for pic 1. Pic 2 doesn't look too bad compared to pic 1 so I would live with it.

Leatherique is your only hope. It won't take those craks out completley, but it will make them look a lot better. My Mom's Jag had a few that were not quite that bad (but close) and after treatment look more like just natural defects in the hide. Leatherique sort of plumps them up and helps fill them in.

If you want to get really serious about it, Leatherique also makes crack filling kits that are color matched.

It's not available locally, but it is worth it.

thanks for the help guys. Leatherique looks like the product i need!

I must say this has to be one of the best forums around! Can't stop reading!

I have to thank Scottwax for suggesting it on the other forum I belong to.

Hate to tell y'all this, but there IS a solution for #1. There's a kit made by permatex with a crack and tear filler/sealer and dyes. You then heat-treat it to seal everything up. I wish I'd taken pictures of the dark grey seat I just used the stuff on recently. The only complicated part is mixing the right color dye (you have to custom mix primary colors) for the seat. Not that hard once you get the hang of it.

Check out your local autoparts store for the permatex kit. :xyxthumbs

Ask the car dealer's used car prep people. There are people that do leather restoration, fill the cracks with expoxies, sand down the leather and re-dye to make it look like new. I've seen worse leather made to look like brand new and it's not that expensive.
