Need to clean pads ea night if polishing in stages?

Hi folks,

Its finally warm enough and I'll have the chance to access an unheated garage to do my major spring detail. My problem is I am not sure I can find a big enough block of time to do the whole polishing job any time soon and I'm eager to redeem my car from winter's ravages. (I am a newbie and my first (& still only) PC polishing effort took me several hours and I probably was moving the pad too quickly at that.) If I were to do a panel or two at night after work for however many days in a row it takes me, would I need to wash out the pad(s) each night, or could I be lazy-I mean time efficient-and just put it in a ziploc and try to pick up where I left off the next day?

I'll bet the better practice would be to wash out the pad(s) each night, but I want to get a reality check. I'm not always sure where the line between paranoid and smart is.

(I thought I might have read about this topic in the past but I couldn't find the thread. Sorry.)

Thanks for any advice.

Depending on what polish or compound I am using, I sometimes clean pads after each panel. But I do have a system 2000 pad washer.

Yeah, I just purchased the UPW and it's definitely worth the investment! For me, I've left compounds/polishes on my pads overnight before. I wouldn't do it with any of my LSPs again though because my last pad deteriorated and I ended up tossing it out.
