Need suggestions for a finishing pad

Hi, i need suggestions for a finishing pad.

I have a rotary and only 2 finishing pads. The 3M black waffle pad and the LC Hydro Crimson pad. The problem is my car's paint is really soft. It is a black honda civic.

When I used the crimson pad with m205, it was really grabby. I primed the pad really well... it didn't work. Sprayed some QD, didn't work either. Still was grabby and left holograms.

When I used the 3m pad with m205, it wasn't as grabby. That was good... but it left holograms. So either way, it left holograms.

I need to know what pads I can use with really soft black honda paint? :)

Since your finishing try lowering the speed a bit?

I really like the 3D lineup! Their pads are great also because they have a foam back and that allows for even pressure throughout the pad.

While rare, some paints simply don't like the movement of the rotary polishers, my Acura being one of them....It's also know as "sticky paint". When I use a rotary on my car with any finishing polish or pad it immediately generates very high temps (even at 600rpms) which results in pad hop and the gumming of polish. I have a very large selection of pads and polishes to choose from and the only one I've ever been able to use with marginal success on my car is the UK 3M Ultrafina with a blue UK 3M finishing pad. Even that combo generated a lot of heat, though workable. On my car a DA is really the only way to polish/finish.

two ways to sort out sticky honda paint. parrafin oil on the pad (a light spritz) or do rotary polishing at 1300 rpm or lower with increased arm speed.

soft sticky paint with a rotary and fast arm speed will get flattened out and look amazing, taking much of the orange peel out.

european foam I find is not a good pad to use on sticky paint due to the construction of the foam. its very latexy and grabby and creates more heat than open cell american foam

definately get yourself a random orbital with mid orbit throw for a great final finish

I use a white foam pad from Malco, works great on Black. Had a 01 Ram that was black and that worked and mopars have crap paint. Google malco chemicals and it will take you to their site and order info.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions!

I wasn't really aware that HT pads were Euro foam.

I will go with the easiest recommendation 1st, then work my way to the hardest.

1st. Fast Arm movement

2nd. Get some of those LC red, blue or gold pads. I can get those here.

If those fail...

Spritz of Paraffin Wax

Unlikely.... due to costs and location (i am from Asia)

3d finishing pads

Random Orbital

Malco

3m finishing pad (Although i have the old black/grey waffle pad)

I would recomend Lake county constant pressure pads use the Grey pad with 205 1400 rpm and slow it down to 900 bit to jewel the paint.

Finishing pad use crimson flat pad since or could use the same grey Finnese.
