Need Repair advice for egg damage (pics)

Dont' worry about the title. It will not have any negative effect if you claim the repair on your insurance. You may want to consider the "Dr. colorchip" method of repair. I used their system with good success on my wifes FX35 after a drive through some freshly cindered roads.

It doesn't really compete with a well done wet sand and polish, but it is a bunch safer and may produce a result you can live with. I am very picky (thus my presence here) and I was happy with the results. It is good paint as well.

Agreed. But, would getting a quote put a mark on the title for this sort of thing?

No harm at all unless you pursue your loss and collect a check. Instead, just ask them for a "Courtesy Estimate". I do it all day long for people who have damages less than their deductibles. Something this small shouldn't show up on a Car Fax either.

Be very careful with touching up that much deep damage without properly prepping the bare surface. It might be a great temporary fix, but could turn into a disaster later if not done properly.
