Need recommendations on a couple supplies

I need a good tire dressing applicator for truck tires. Something that can handle the rougher surface of the sidewalls on 4x4 tires. Maybe I'm just buying crappy ones but they all seem to get chewed up when I work on my dad's truck.

And if anyone can chime in on this I would appreciate it: With the new Edge 2000 pads for PCs, do you still need to buy a counterweight? I haven't even bought the PC yet but I need to know if I have to get the weight also.

Thanks,

Otra

I've been using Adam's detailing sponges....the best applicator I've found for truck tires, as well as stubborn sidewalls in general (i.e. Pirelli and Goodyear with a gazillion vertical grooves). Mine are round and they've since switched to a square shape, but I wouldn't think there'd be much difference.

Re: the PC...you match the counterweight to the size of the backing plate, right? My memory is weak but I remember getting my 5" velcro plate and counterweight as a combo.

If you have PC 7424 and Edge 2k pads, your fine (what I use), the 7336 has a bigger counterweight so you could go to a larger pad if you wanted, but either is fine for the 6" Edge 2k pads.

Try any of the Meg's Detailer-Line dressings.

The Hyper Dressing is one of my favorites, or the All-Season. Much more economical than any aerosol and you can get the shine you want easily and durability is good as well.

or go with an aerosol spray, i use ntx insane shine on alot of the hunting rigs i work on. no worry with the treads just sit back and spray!

Thanks for all the quick replys everyone.

So if I understand correctly I will not need to buy a counterweight seperatly? The PC 7424 will come with one? With the Edge 2k pads you don't need a backing plate so I know I will need the adaptor to attach the pad to the PC.

VroomVroom: I will check out the Adam's detailing sponges. Maybe see if I can buy one or a two pack for a sample.
