Ok I decided to get the Sonus SFX Polisher kit. The products should I get that with give the best results using these pads? I am looking to achieve scratch free, lots of depth, and the "wet look". Also what wax should I get?
 
If you have a complete pad set , then Optimum polish is a GREAT solution from bottom to top . Heavier swirls might need an SSR or Optimum compound followed by the polish though .

There are so many waxes , but generally a glaze 1st then a quality carnuba 2-3 coats applied over 2-3 days with a QD wipe down in between will look great .

Sealants last longest if quality ones , and can be topped with nauba for extra depth and wetness , and usually dull the plasticy look of most sealants
 
I am looking at getting the poorboys' line of products. I was reading something on here that the poorboys' line of products doesnt give the paint very good depth, is this true? If so could someone recommend which product line or products that will give me the best depth and clarity using a PC. This will be by first time using a PC, I am not to worried about getting a product that is user friendly I am willing to do sacrifice, "user friendlyness" for best product result. Any product suggestions?
 
No I am having doubts weither I should get the Sonus SFX Polisher Kit, with the yellow,grey, and blue pad. Most of the threads on here talk about the green and orange pads. Should I get the DAS kit instead. Which one is better?
 
You can't go wrong with any popular brand out there. The difference between the SFX and DAS pads is that the SFX pads are a little more aggressive than the DAS ones, and were specfically designed to compliment the SFX polishes. I'm not saying they won't work with any other polishes, because they will, I'm just saying that the SFX polish/pad combo is a good one.



I, personally, prefer the mild nature of the DAS pads and don't really have any preference as to which polishes I use, as I pretty much have them all.



One determining factor that may help your decision is by telling us what color you car is, the kind of shape it's in, and what type of environment you will be working in.
 
well I will be detail a bunch of different cars.

My personal car: explorer limited: metallic pearl-no swirls, or scratches, no depth and hardly a reflection.

Other cars I will be detailing:



Worst of them:

3000gt vr4- Red paint- swirled, no depth and hardly a reflection, bumpers are a bit faded.

Next on list:

00 Chrysler Concorde- Champaign pearl.- bad shape lots of scratches, a little depth and relfection.

99 Audi A6- Casablance white- no depth, can only achieve a little relfection right after being washed. Some areas very dull.

2000 Acura tl- Laguna metallic- scratches around, no depth and little reflection

2001 Acura MDX-Mesa Beige Metallic- scratches around, no depth and little reflection

2001 Honda S2000- Indy yellow Pearl- paint just about perfect, just has little depth and reflection. pearl does not show.

2005 Acura RL- Carbon Gray Pearl Metallic- Paint beautiful, a few very light marings, had been simonized, doesnt have show car shine or depth that it should have.



I would like to get a product that will bring the max amount of depth out of each of these cars, along with bringing out the metallic in the cars with metallic paint. What product should I use to get the best "wet look" and relfection out of the paint.

From everyones experience on here, what products will give be the results I am looking for on these types of paints. It can be a different product that will only work best just for a certain paint. I have no budget, I just want to get the best results, because it will probably be a long time since I have a chance to fully detail some of these cars again.
 
I would try the SFX polishes if you are going to be getting stuff from Autopia anyhoo. Cant go wrong.



You could get samples for other stuff you want to try from members.
