after reading here some, this is what I'm considering.

1. wash-claybar car

2. polish with klasse all in one

3. one coat vanilla moose glaze (not layerable?)

4. multiple coats klasse sealant glaze.

5. top shelf wax if my arm isn't too tired, probably the p21s stuff.

- not sure if I should use dawn like i had been with zaino when claying the car.

Any opinions, advice, sugesstions welcome.

Car is black 2002 camaro ss. I was using zaino the 1st year, then started using ibiz. after this winter, car needs a serious polishing. Also, any advice for the chips in the front end? They can't be seen from more than 5 feet away, but up close when detailing there's quite a few and it's upsetting. I have touchup paint and the mother's touchup softener, but no clearcoat touchup.. yet. Is it possible to fix chip marks by hand and get it so they are not visible ?

thanks

You can do a decent job on chips if they are small. Get a lanka kit if the mothers doesn't work for you. I've never used mothers but Lanka is really forgiving and easy. For chips you wont need a CC, just polish after. The main thing is to clear out the chip walls with a pen sander.

Skip the VM, SG won't bond to it very well. Using AIO you won't need dawn, but AIO won't do too much for defects (swirls, marring, etc.), so you may want to consider something like Poorboy's SSR2.5 followed by SSR1 as a polish if needed.

As for the chips here is a good article and also a link to a kit from Eastwood:

what pc pad would you use for the SSR2.5 ????

it depends on how bad the swirls are. for heavy swirls, i like to use a cutting pad. for light swirls or light hazing, a polishing pad.
