So I have a 200 gallon tank in my trailer that holds all of my non-spot free water that comes straight from the garden hose. I also have two 26 gallon tanks that I use to hold spot free water for final rinses. I keep one in the trailer and the other one in my garage at the house. For the spot free water I have been going to the coin op car wash and filling one of the 26 gallon tanks with the water. A while back I was doing this and the guy that "works" there gave me an earful about how he doesn't want me doing this because it will burn out his pump and threatened to call the cops and get a no trespassing order on me. I told him to go ahead and do whatever because I felt I was well within my rights to do what I was doing.
Fast forward to today where once again I was at the same place and ran into the same guy while filling my tank up. He approached me with a "you again" remark and went on about me going to burn up the pump again and cost him $2,000 or so to get it fixed. I mean, isn't this what the pump is designed to do day in and day out. If me filling up a 26 gallon tank is going to have some detrimental effect to a pump operating at a 24hr facility, I don't see how such an establishment could handle a steady flow of customers without being closed down every other day for repairs. He then cut the water off.
So, what do you all think? Does this guy have a valid point? I am a paying customer and also do rinse off my vehicle there often not just use the place to fill my tank (mostly use it for that purpose though). I was once doing this at another local place and the owner or whoever he was even was nice enough to add some extra time for me. That place is a bit further though and sometimes the water isn't truly spot-free though.
