Need Opinions - Black Honda Accord

definity nb. thanks to this site it's pretty much the only wax i use on black paint. It's extremely deep and wet. you don't HAVE to use fp2 but just by looking at your paint i'd say you could get great results with a pretty easy finish job. Also i have been using it lately so it's fresh in my mind. If you are ordering online you might as well get a bottle of optimum polish, That way you can use it for deeper imperfection removal in the future or as a finish up with it using the corresponding pads all in one bottle. i can't remember but im pretty sure it's a lot less spendy as the fp2, also pretty easy to use. great for all skill levels. If you didn't want to order online i don't know what poishes are available locally that you could use to finish that job. I'm sure others will chime in.

I already have a PC 7424 and took advantage of the Lowes deal today by picking up a 7336 to have on hand as well.

The PC 7424 and 7336 are the same machine...Keep your reciept

Yep, I'm aware they are the same machine; they're just configured differently. I figured the price made it reasonable to have a spare PC on hand. The 7424 is already set up with the velcro backing plate but for the 7336 I bought the Edge 2000 adapter and pads.

nice thinking, might as well get another one the next time they're on sale for your four inch bp so you never have to unscrew em. I personally only have one and hate switching back and forth. I usually go over all hard to reach four inch then switch to 6. It'd be nice to have one fore all three.:bow

I ordered the products on-line today from autogeek. Since they didn't seem to have the Menzerna and I prefer a one-stop shop, I got the PB SSR 2.5, the SSR 1, the EX-P Sealant, and the Natty's Blue.

The SSR 2.5 is really for my black F-150, which needs some help, but it may also get the marring off the Honda. I'll try the SSR 1 first, but that may be too mild for some of the scratches that are still there.

Anyway, the plan is to use the SSR 2.5 (if needed) with an orange Griots pad or with a Green Edge pad unless the test of SSR1 with a white pad proves sufficient. The overall process will be:

1.) 2-bucket Dawn wash

2.) Clay bar with Griot speed shine lubricant

3.) SSR 2.5 or 1 per the above test results

4.) PB EX-P Sealant with red Griot pad

5.) PB natty blue with red Griot pad

One question - how long should I wait between the sealant and the natty blue?

If you dont mind me asking...what is the going price by you? Did you get it on sale?

Yes, I was able to get the Lowes price of $59.95. That's what was marked on the product so I didn't even have to request a clearance price. When I was there on Sunday, they still had seven more units left.

hmm thank you for the info I may have to stop by my local Lowes tomorrow and see if they have any left. Thanks again!

Sad to read about this.

And I do see a filthy cowl and wheel well. There is also some serious hazing/buffer trails on the fender.

How is the touch-up done? Was it a total bumper repaint?

Our trained eyes notice these things that 99% of America cant see. As long as you and your wife are happy, that is all that matters.

Jsatek, The touch up was done on small, isolated rock chips all over the front of the car (hood, grille, and bumper). They just spotted in some black paint on each chip and smoothed it a bit. The touch-up work was actually pretty decent, although they didn't completely fill one of the chips so there is still some white showing on that one.

My wife is happy with the way the car looks, but I'm not. I'll do it over again to get it right.
