I have a PC right now but i heard the flex is alot stronger and faster and would cut down detail alot. Im thinking about upgrading to the Flex or should I just spend my money on a orbital machine??

I agree if your going to up grade...head for a good rotary...the flex is a good machine but its a glorified orbital IMO...the rotary is the machine that you can get the best paint correction with

Hardly ever use the rotary except for wet sanding.

Don't have any paint that needs that much polishing.:yay

I agree whole heartedly. I use my PC about 90% of the time but there are those times when a rotary is worth the price of admission.

I thought that I had posted this but it dosen't seem to be here...I talked with Stephan for sometime about the Flex..He has one....I was on the fence post about buying one...my thoughts where that it would replace my orbital...after the talk I decide it wasn't what I wanted to do.

From what I gather, the flex is just a glorified orbital, but requires about the same amount of work as a rotary...the results are noting near what you would get with the rotary...When I reach for the rotary its for full paint correction, and I know that I am in for more work, than the orbital...with the orbital that is a good tool but its not a correction tool for me..just something that I can get the product on even and do a small amount of correction...not saying that you can't get correction with a orbital.

I use the 6 inch...buy the Edge system...its the two sided pads a bit more expensive but worth it...with that system you don't need a backing plate and can buy different pad size with out having to change plates

6" backing plate gives you more diversity and I prefer Lake Country pads ...either CCS or VC ... these can be switched back and forth from a rotary to your pc
and make sure you get the pre-formed backs not the flat ones ..they fit better and last longer
