looking for a new name for the express business, but having a hard time coming up with something catchy and legit. the clientele are not your autopian type, nor the type who know about detailing...rather just the weekly washes and monthly spray wax candidates....you know, the other 99%! LOL. This business will focus on bulk, faster work by an employee rather than myself (when trained properly) doing up to 12-15 washes per day (with or without help).

it was going to be "mobile express detailing", but I am thinking I want to change that up.

what do you have for me? its for a business that only will offer washes, wash and waxes, and wash/wax/interior work - no claying or polishing (those jobs will be referred to Envious Detailing)

Eric's Auto Emporium ! Of course that doesn't denote your act of business in the name.

If you want to be able to do things like get ad-space in newspapers and other print media, if you have something surrounding "auto detailing" in your name, then you can advertise simply with your business name and logo, say nothing else, and everyone will know what you do. Just something to think about. It really comes down to how much advertising you want to do. If you go with a unique name that isn't automatically associated with automotive detailing, then you're going to have to do more brand awareness than if you simply went with the main stream and named yourself like most others.

yeah I want to keep "..... detailing" in the name. I am going to flyer market like crazy and hit up local business complexes, etc. mayeb some direct mailing to corporate spots and also house...going to hit up some apt complexes and try to get exclusive rights, etc.

Eric's Express Detailing could work...I would just be fielding phone calls and emails all day (while detailing cars with under Envious Detailing - the higher end)

Eric, just came across my mind:

1. Eric's Xpress Detailing

2. Eric's Quik Detailing

3. OC Xpress Detailing

4. Envious Eric's Quik Detailing

I think you should call it Envious Auto Detailing EXPRESS. Just slap that on your logo, and it will make it easier for the express guys to sell services for the parent company. This will make you seem like a pretty big time operation to your clients.

Eric's Express Detailing...your the owner, why not. Just another way for people to remember your personal name.

I like that idea too, there are so many me too names in the detailing world, the ones with someone's name stick out.

See, I think the opposite. I just changed my business name to remove "myself" from it because I want to expand it (I haven't changed my logo on this website yet). The thing I run into is everyone wanting ME to do all the detailing. If you are looking to expand, I would keep your name out of it. Especially since it won't be you doing all the detailing...but make sure your clients know that it is you that trained the guy detailing their car.

I can see that being a problem, but to me it seems like an easier problem to manage than brand dilution. Take a look at all the names in the phone book, its always elite mobile image express reflection quick something or other.

This depends on your clientel. A soccer mom getting a $150.00 wash, wax and interior on the mini-van isn't going to care if Eric's doing the actual work or not. Someone with a $100,000 Porsche, on the other hand, will. All depends on what market you're trying to service. In this scenario, since this a volume-oriented operation, I wouldn't worry too much about expansion vs brand problems.

A more generic name for an express detail may make more sense if you ever plan to sell the business. I made the mistake of using my last name in the business name and now I want to change it, but it is a tough transition to make because all of my marketing material, website, online directory info, etc, etc all carry the old name.

after a lot of thought, I want to keep things separate since I will not be the one doing the work. Nothing related to Envious or my name will be used...
