Need Meg's professional line recomendation

Hey guys I have a question reguarding the meguires professional line. I do part time detailing on the weekends, about 2 cars a week, and most of the cars that I get are about 3-7 years old, with no major oxidation or problems, just the usual signs of neglect and drive thru car washes, spiderwebbing, light scratches, decreased shine, etc. On these cars I have been using meg's swirl remover 2.0, which is a 3 on the abrasiveness scale, and it does o.k., but doesn't take much out as far as swirls or scratching, and bringing out a better shine, so I want something a little more abrasive I guess, but not too heavy like diamond cut. just something to take out minor blemishes and renew the shine. I don't like removing more paint then necessary. Also I want to stick with the meg's pro line, and I am using a rotary buffer. So what do you guys recommend for these applications?

Thanks,

Heff

I just used the product you talked about last night, and to tell you the truth I think Meguiars Gold Class removes more swirls and scratches and deepens the paint more.

If the #9 did not remove swirls, your best product to step up to would be the DACP. This will clean, remove swirls and polish all in one step. Try a yellow cut pad, then go to white polish pad. DACP needs to be broken down for the polish to really work. Does a great job in removing paint defects and producing avery nice shine.

After DACP if you need more level of shine, you could use #7 show car glaze or Megs Machine glaze with a white polish pad. Then proceed to wax if using a carnuba wax. If you choose to use a poly sealant, you would need to wash the oils off the finish for the sealant to bond, so a Dawn wash will remove any remaining oils and get the finish ready for the sealer. If just wax, no need to wash.

I now use mostly 3M PIII-MG and finish with Menzerna FP. Swirls were not bad or deep, otherwise I'd get the DACP out and glaze it later.

For the record, I always use klasse AIO, then Poly sealant or wax, after whatever buffing product I use.

I will assume you use a PC. I'm with Dean. Meguiar's #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish is the next step up.

As a weekend detailer I would recommend a wide variety of polishes and pads for you're PC. 3M PI III line (Machine Glaze is most talked about) and Meguiar's Mirror Glaze and BSP are two popular lines.

DACP is my workhorse. I've only had it leave a haze one time too. Just make sure you work it long enough to a powder or else its a booger to remove.
