I have a 2001 Gold Tacoma. It been well used and I want to keep it in pretty good shape. Its my daily driver and I use it frequently to carry stuff and take rubbish to the dump so it's not immacualte by any stretch of the imagination.

This past weekend, I worked on the paint by using Megs Ultimate Compound and M205 polish followed by removing oils and polish off and applied Wolf's hard body. I finished about half the truck in about 4 hours. The job I did was not great but adequate (in my eyes). Will do the other half this weekend. In the future, I will keep up with it more often (this is the first time I polished it, only waxed over what was there)

Now I want to make it easier, as I'm not after perfection but want my truck to look decent. One step would be ideal. I was thinking about Blackfire Total Polish and Seal and maybe using Wet Diamond Polymer Spray when I was it which would be every other week. Will probably be working on my wife's SUV on the other week. I would like to seal it about every 6 months. Would that be sufficient or am I dreaming?

I was also looking at the Advice thread but that seems like maybe if I can get away with not using compound in the future then using the polish and the Crystal Seal Spray that might be easy enough but would it give me 6 months of protection out here in Hawaii where the UVs are pretty strong?

Thanks for any advice.

My initial plan was continue with what I have done on the unfinished part (Compound, Polish, Hard Body) then do a one step (or two step if easy) maybe in six months to a year. But if I can get by with a one or two step and get near results then I may go that route

I did forget to mention that I did use a Nanoskin Mitt and use a Griots Garage buffer.

I guess my main options (as I see it) are
1) BF Total Polish and Seal, BF Wet Diamond Polymer Spray as subsequent washings
2) BF SRC finishing polish, Crystal seal
3) Another brand's one step polish and seal.

Well considering Hard Body is a coating and any polishing will remove it, I'd honestly just do the same to the rest of the truck. As for wifes car really can't go wrong with Bf finishing polish/BFWD. Crystal seal or Wet diamond are gonna give you about same amount of protection. If your really trying to keep maintenance down maybe try the pinnacle black label coating after 205(so you dont have to buy more polish) and then you can use the topper for it as needed. Just thinking about this being in harsh UV's I for sure coat my cars with something!

I think I will finish off my truck with the Hard Body. In the future (maybe 6 months), I'll try the BF Total Polish and Seal and use the wet Diamond Polymer Seal after washings. If I don't like that, then I'll try the Black Label. I don't mind spending a couple of hours every month, just don't like spending 8-10 hours just to make it look a little bit better.
