need help with musty smell from siitng for the winter

Removing common odors is about killing bacteria and beyond. The naturally occurring odors are bacteria related, examples: sour milk, decaying matter type smells. Others are chemically related odors and are brought about by contact with chemical compounds or elements, examples would be gasoline and petroleum based odors, cigarette smoke etc. My experience has been that though some products will do a great job of removing bacterial type odors (biocides) they don't necessarily work as well on chemical odors and the reverse is also true. Just my 2 cents.

I would find out what the source of the odor is and do something different in storing the car after you get rid of the smell.

I store my Corvette every winter have for years and I have NO ODOR in the spring when I get it out of storage.
I don't put anything in the car or under the car I store it in a warm DRY building that is tight enough that mice can't get in and I have had no problem.

That's a great way to do it Bart but he said it was outside under a car cover....

HUGE difference...

Even with mine inside a cold garage i took measures to make sure there was no stink...

and when i got her out there was none...

I was just pointing out that he should consider some other options for storing since I don't have the odor problem it must be his method of storing.

If you look around you can find empty garages that could be rented very reasonable and it would be better than going through the hassle of getting rid of odor every spring.

Parking a car outside under a cover may be ok over night but it would not be my choice for long term storage.

hey poorboy what airfreshner sents do you have and will they eat the small odor away i have in my car and stay away

That question is exactly like calling a Dr. and asking....... "Am I gonna be ok and live another 45 years?" Without being examined and knowing exactly what's going on. :wall

Sorry to say, but your car will have to be Haz-burried in Nevada.
