Hi guys, recently purchased the black and decker KP600 due to tight budget issues.

on the box its stated

no load speed 4,400 opm

comes with 1 blue coloured wax pad and 3 wool .the speed is non adjustable.

would like to ask what would the effect be if to use this machine for detailing?would it

gives an average job or would it be a big nono as the speed is non variable?

and as for the polishing wool pad,is it advisible to use wool or should get something else?

please advise.sorry for me being really a noob.

thanks all in advance :D

It runs at a seemingly perfect, average speed, but because of the bonnet system it'll only be good for waxing. If you want to use it for polishing and swirl removal, too, I would do what user "Isinoh" did; cut out the stock foam pad, remove the adhesive, attach some velcro and get some quality velcro-backed pads.

It's only good for wax application/light polishing (if you retrofit it with velcro backing pad). For defect correction, it is not much better than the old school 10" dia orbital buffer.
