Okay so I just purchased a bunch of 5" hook and loop sanding disks to use with my GG DA, but I was also looking for something that I saw being used in a video. The guy called it an inter-surface pad. It was a foam pad maybe 1/2" thick that appeared to be velcro on both sides that he stuck between the backing plate and the sanding disk so the disk could conform to the body panels. Anyone know what this is called or where to buy one? I've been looking around but couldn't find anything.

Here's the video. Go to 4:05.

Thanks!

Hello fellow Wilkes-Barrian.....here is what he was referring to: keeping in mind that as far as I know Megs only has 3 inch and 6 inch pads.Meguiars Unigrit 3 Inch Foam Interface Pad

Perfect! Thank you. One more question: should I remove the counter weight on my gg da before sanding?

If you do that, the spindle assembly will fall out of the polisher. That counterweight is what makes the machine work in a "dual action" aka "orbital" motion.

Yeah probably not going to do that then. I didn't look at how it was actually attached. Thanks for the advise.
