either way I need the products I can get the mothers bar clay here but im up for trying poorboys or other products online
OK, here goes......
Keep in mind that detailing is about process, procedure and of course........... paying attention to the details!
Prep is the most important part of the process. Paint should be clean, smooth, free of oxidation, contaminates and swirl marks.......... at least as best as one can do.
That said, as you already know, there are a lot of great products. Concentrate on picking a good one for each step (doesn't necessarily have to be the best product). Later on, you can try other products to see which ones "you" prefer............. it's all about preference.
You will need.....
Clay bar - just about anyone of them will work fine.
Chemical paint cleaner - Deep Crystal paint cleaner or Poorboy's Pro Polish will work fine.
Moderate Swirl remover - Poorboy's SSR2.5, Meguiar's DACP are two good ones.
Lighter Swirl remover - Meguiar's #80, PB's SSR2, Menzerna IP, Meguiar's #9 are excellent choices.
Final Polish - Menzera FP II or PB's SSR1 will certainly get the job done.
Glaze - (if you want to use one) Meguiar's #81 will work fine.
Waxes/Sealant - Your choice. Most of them are good. Most of them all have their own characteristics that some like better than others.
Process:
Be meticulous with you paint prep. Get the paint clean by using the clay bar and the chemical paint cleaner.
Remove or minimize the swirls/stains/spider web marks and enhance the finish with "multiple" polishing steps (getting the paint smooth and bright). IMHO......... this is the part that separates a "good" detailing job from a "great" detailing job.
When you use the clay bar........ you are also "polishing".... even though only slightly
When you use the paint cleaner....... you are "polishing".... again, even though only lightly.
When you remove the swirls....... you are "polishing"
When you do your final polish....... you are "polishing" again.
Now it's time to add you protection.......... the easy part.
Of course, through this process, you need to be using the highest quality tools (pads, applicators, towels.... Etc).
Lastly, the above recommendations are just products that work for me. They should work well for you......... and so would some other products.
Good luck and hope this helped.
