Need help figuring out if I need Optimum Compound, or just O. Polish...compare SFX-2

What's up guys?

I have already made a thread about picking my new polish(es), but I just wanted to get some clarification. I am pretty decided on the optimum line, they seem to be very well liked and a good value per amount of polish as well.

I only have experience in the Sonus line of polishes. I've recently had some very nice results removing oxidation from my 240sx project, as well as doing a test spot on my bro's oxidized Red Toyota Tacoma by using Sonus SFX-2 on PC speed 5-6 with a Sonus DAS Green pad.

My question is: How does SFX-2 compare to Optimum Polish? Will I get the same results? Or do I need to step up to Optimum Compound to take care of things. I unfortunately didn't have enough SFX-2 to do a test spot on my girlfriend's Maroon Toyota Corolla that's swirled to hell to see if I could have cut the paint down with the SFX-2 to give an idea of how aggressive I would have to get.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Based on my usage of Optimum polish it is, in my opinion, more of a finishing polish. It has a very long working time and is pad dependent. Tough marring requires a step up in product abrasiveness, for me anyway. I have yet to have success with it in bad marring situations regardless of pad choice or time spent. For light marks it works wonderfully and leaves a superb LSP ready finish. It has a bit of a learning curve and very little product is required. Just one guy's opinion.......

I've not used SFX-2 so I cannot compare the two.

op can definitely be a one step depending on the clear and how deep the imperfections are. i was pleasantly suprised how well op and orange pad via pc removed all swirl marks off another members wrx (he's suppose to be taking pics today, my camera was full). the more i use it the more pleased i am with it.
