Hey, how about an S8 pic? I am guessing that it's all shiny again after the Deer event?



Man, don't you love how Audi's drive? I have 88K miles on my A8 and keep telling myself its time to get another car, but after a business trip from Indy to Columbus, OH, I just can't picture anything, other than an S8, that I would enjoy driving over the road any more than what I have.



I had a 91 200Q with the 20 valve turbo, and it was my favorite car before the A8, and that included an Audi V8 and a Saab 9000Aero.



But then again, that 5-speed Saab Aero was a blast to drive. Mid-range torque was unbelieveable.



Gotta go drive somewhere!

SamIam ... i agree, both of the swedish cars ... saabs and volvos are a blast to drive. I've driven saabs and have a 5-speed brick ... they're no A8 tho ...



as far a sealing in the 1Z stuff ... am i gonna be ok with a coat, maybe 2 of carnauba ... i.e. S100? or would a sealant be better?



if the 1Z polishes do leave behind some waxes what would AIO do to that? i'm guessing it would remove most of that, but would the polish still abrade away enough of the swirls to be ok w/out the included waxes? i've been wanting to try AIO topped w/ carnauba and i was just wondring how it would bond to the 1Z stuff
 
I'm concerned about the 1z interfering with bonding as well, so in being overly cautious, I'm going to wipe with an alcohol mix after each use of the 1z polishes, this should also reveal any swirls still left behind after the 1z polishes, the Klasse should bond for sure after this over the top regimen :o
 
SamIam- Yeah, I gotta either get a digital or at least get some 35mms digitalized.



I haven't really cleaned up the S8 yet, I'm taking it all very slowly and carefully. I keep finding stuff under my shop lights that I can't see anywhere else, and I'm not gonna really DO the car until everything is wrapped up and the paint is all cured and well, it's just gonna take as long as it takes. I'm hopeful that one more trip to the dealership (scheduled for April 26) will do it.



We took the S8 last night; it's really a great car. The drive-by-wiere isn't perfect, but it's better than some.



Accumulatorette did an Audi progression similar to yours. She had a '94 S4 before her A8.



Volvolove- I'd just apply my wax of choice over the 1Z polish's stuff. I don't think you'd gain anything with the AIO, and *I* wouldn't use it unless I was gonna also use SG.



Yes, the 1Z polish WILL abrade away the marring. It's NOT just a bunch of fillers or cleaner wax.

i guess i was just thinking about AOI because its acrylic and might be a good idea to seal everything in with the carnauba over it ... but i see your point as well



sounds like when i pull myself together and some money (remember, i'm just a broke high-schooler) that i'll be ordering some 1Z stuff. i'm getting impatient for the weather to start to get nicer here on the east coast ...

I'd use the 1Z Paint polish, that would probably leave a good enough finish. Rather than use Klasse, I would use the 1Z Metallic, it is a really nice all in one product that will leave a couple months worth of protection behind. You can reapply every month and have your car looking sweet all the time.



Otherwise, I'd use your carnuba over the Paint Polish and proably reapply the carnuba every month. Who am I kidding, I'd probably want to reapply every week or two. Besides, you're young, you should have plenty of excess energy!:D
