need advice please, family pets are missing :(
Glad you found them! But I have to ask, $1500 reward? Are people really that rotten that they wouldn't return someone else's dogs for $50?.
yes, unfortunately around my neighborhood. when my sister talked to them over the phone, and they were hesitant to say where they lived and really only wanted to meet where we live. from what they said, the girl was crying the whole night and so they left both the dogs outside overnight where it was very cold :angry (these are housedogs), and when we got them back, they seemed dazed and acted if they didn't recognize my sister (they were traumitized). if it wasn't for the reward, they would of kept them guaranteed (they also acted like it, with no intention to give them back as they knew they were expensive dogs) and after my sister wrote them the check, off to the bank they went to immediately cash it (you could see the $$ in their eyes).... i'm just glad we got them back, that's the most important thing bottomline... :) !

I'm glad you got them back, but pretty disappointed that it took $1500. What ever happened to the golden rule? I've placed ads in a newspaper before trying to locate the owner of a dog and wouldn't consider accepting a dime for the expense of food, advertising, etc.. The joy of seeing a pet and their owner reunited should be payment enough. OK, rant over.

unfortunately, the $1500 is what it took to get them back (dropped a flyer at a veterinary, where i saw some flyers that people were offering a $1000 reward for one dog, and we got two back considering they cost about that much a piece). if the reward would of been $50, $100, etc... they would of just kept them (probably would of laughed it up) and who knows, try to sell them for more (they knew they weren't cheap).

once again guys/gals.... i appreciate your concern! :2thumbs:

I am soo glad you got them back. I just do not understand what is wrong with people. The lady who took my female rotti home when she got out actually asked if she could keep her! She was in no hurry to find the rightful owner. Chipping them will give you a better peace of mind. Just do not be scared of the huge needle they use.

There were people who risked lives and limbs to find some poor climbers on Mt Hood.

There were people who "found" neighbor's dogs and accepted $1500 reward money.

I guess there are heroes and there are scums.

It was pretty amazing that they took your reward money.

trust me, they had no problem accepting it and it was the only reason they gave them back (x-mas came early for them)... thanks again for EVERYONE'S concern! :up

Not trying to be rude or anything but teach your dog some obediance, my dog (german shepherd) has gotten out numrous times, not to mention attempted to eat the mailman poor guy looked scared... (same probolm as you door+wind=bad ju-ju) I just yelled for her, then whislted for her she came bolting back took a min or two but she came back, and shes only 8 months old. I took our GSD to pets mart puppy training it works, not the best training in the world, but it teaches you to command your dog. I also NEVER punish my GSD for anything she has DONE <--- key word DONE, now if I catch her IN THE ACT, she gets smacked on the nose (not hard but enough to let her know) and a firm no. Also teaching your dog(s) to come, every time they come to you treat them as if you have never seem them before, give them treats and so forth...what the hell was that....oh thunder...or a bomb.... anywho as that way they see it when you call them they are going to get rewarded. but anywho i've spilled long enough, So glad you got your dogs back.

It's a shame they know where you live; I'd be tempted to cancel the check. And yes, I know that makes a me a *****, but tell me they don't deserve it. :)

But in the end I am glad the dogs are back. If it came down to it I'd pay $1500 to get mine back too!
