I'm am trying to remove scratches left behind from my dad drying my car with a cali water blade. I'm pretty new to autopia but not new to detailing. Here Is my Plan, I'm going to go over the car with dacp with a cutting foam pad on my PC then Move to 1z MP on a polishing pad, fallowed by either the wg twins or #16, does this sound about right to remove swirl type scratches with some that are pretty bad? im trying to get the finsh almost perfect, will The mp take out all the swirls left by dacp? the paint is black and i will try to get some pictures since i know its hard to tell by words. thanks for your time

Mbimmer,

I'm thinking that should do the trick and if not you may need something like:

DACP, 1z PP, then MP if the MP alone didnt remove the defects.

Black is tough, I agonize if I see anything under my flourscents and I hate to whip out my halogens. Good luck, let us know how it made out!

The process sounds pretty good. Lately I've been using carnuba as a topper. Like others, I like the look of Tech Wax on a dark paint. I did that on my wife's Pilot and then followed with #16. Makes it look like a deep candy apple red now. Amazing.
