Southeast US

Very Hot Long Summers

Very High Humidity

Love Bug Mating Season

Lots of Afternoon Thunderstorms

Mild Winters

Im thinking FK 1000P or Rejex for the Spring Application through Summer. Collinite 845 or Nu Finish for the Winter.

Have Duragloss Aquawax, Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax, and Eagle One Nanowax Spray to use as boosters.

What say you?

FK1000P is the answer. Only real reason to not like it is the ease of use. 845 and NuFinish are much easier to use, though NuFinish is wicked on trim.

Thanks. Ease of application is a consideration as well. Though none of these from what Ive read are terribly tough to apply. Though I will only be applying 2 times a year.

Collinite 845 is already a ease of use choice over the other Collinites.

Doesnt FK 1000p also have to be kept off the trim? And it needs to be applied very thin too right?

I do live on the coast/beach, so salt air and spray is a factor.

Little to no salting of the roads however during the winter.

Yep :xyxthumbs

I'm using FK1000P on one vehicle and Collinite on another.

You do need to keep FK1000P off trim, but still, I don't even think there's an ease-of-use issue and I'm generally *VERY* opposed to LSPs that can stain trim. Just wipe it off immediately and you should be OK as long as you don't really slop it on the trim or anything like that. I mean...I actually used the FK1000P on the trim of my Yukon XLD so it can't be *that* big of a problem.

I'd do the trim with KAIO (topped with KSG if you have any), try to keep the FK1000P off it, and then use some leaves-stuff-behind QD on the trim.

I sure wouldn't switch from FK1000P to 845 for winter! Might go the other way if I simply hated the look of FK1000P/loved the look of 845..but nah...I'd just stick with FK1000P.

Acid rain is not that big of a problem around here either, just for further information.

Looks like the FK 1000p is highly recommended for the hot Southeast. Ill definitely pick some up.

I have nothing but the sprays right now. Thinking about picking several of these up anyways, but wanted to get some feedback. Definitely going to get the Collinite and on your recommendations the FK 1000p.

Any comments on Rejex?

Was located in New Hampshire and now in Southwest PA. DG 105 used with 601 bonding agent has held up well in both areas. NH used allot of salt and PA uses allot of sand. I put on a coat of 105 using the 601 bonding agent when I do my spring instensive detail and then add a coat of 105 alone every 3 or 4 months, but last winter never had a chance to add a coat during the winter so went without additional 105 from late Oct. to early May and still had great beading. Although, did add a coat of Aquawax every 6 weeks or so. This winter will be adding 1 OZ of Aquawax to my ONR mix when I wash which is working out great. 105 and 106 require no speacial care as they don't stain trim, very easy to apply and buff off and are resonably priced. I think the 105 is $12 for 16 OZ at this time. To my eye 105 with an Aquawax topper has more of a carnuba look than most sealants such as Zaino although I have to say you can't beat Zaino for durability--I had a Black A6 when I was working and after 3 years and 100K miles it looked almost as good as the day I brought it home. Switched to DG products for the more reasonable pricing and shipping not to mention I can get most of them at my local NAPA.

EscapeVelocity- Sorry, never used Rejex :nixweiss

Between Collinite and FK1000P, you're pretty well covered! The looks are a whole 'nother thing, and utterly subjective, but it's not like I ever quit using either of those over how they looked, which is more than I can say for some other stuff.

I'd want some KAIO on hand (I'd use it under/before either the Collinite and FK1000P), and you could KAIO the whole vehicle, FK1000P the non-trim bits, then 845 the trim. If you get a little 845 on the FK1000P it wouldn't be a biggie and it'll probably work the other way around too (do the trim with 845 and then don't sweat a little sloppiness when doing the FK1000P).

Or you could live dangerously as I did and KAIO the whole thing and then FK1000P it, trim and all. But OK..."don't try this at home, kids!" ;)

Klasse AIO

or another AIO?

How about Duragloss 601?

I'd get KAIO just because it's so versatile, but I've never tried anything from DuraGloss so I can't comment on the 601.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I have in my cart...

Klasse AIO - Long time standard setter. Versitile.

Collinite 845 This seems to be a perrenial favoirte.

Rejex Somewhat lessor known and used, but the boaters and Vette owners like it. Tout better UV protection than Collinite.

Optimum Car Wax Spray - I cant help myself.

Meguiar's Water Magnet - Gonna try these WW towel for drying. Have an assortment of Vrooms I just picked up.

Finish Kare 1000p Hi Temp Wax - Newish to the market, but very well liked, especially for high temp areas and outdoor kept cars.

Optimum No Rinse - $8, Ill try it. Many uses apparently.

Free Sample - Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant or Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax?

Ill check out Napa for Duragloss products. Pick up some Nu Finish.

Curious about Clearkote Moose Wax. If there is a local retailer of this, Ill check it out.

I have ColorX and Ultimate Compound already, trying to fix the Extremely Dull paint on the White Toyota Camry. ColorX helped, but with hand application only, the Ultimate Compound worked a charm.

I think Im gonna experiment, putting Rejex on one car after KAIO, and Collinite on one car after KAIO, and Nu Finish on one car after KAIO.

Then try the FK1000p in the Spring.

Get a little experience with each and then go from there.

Convince me not to use Nu Finish. Im waffling on it. Nobody likes it, it gets little to no love. Is it really that bad?

Anyways, then I can use the FK1000p in the 3 way test.

If you have the newer formula NuFinish, it will outlast everything else. The only thing its not going to easily beat is Zaino.

I still haven't had to redo the roof or hood of the Tahoe, which got their second coat of FK1000P back in early January! I'll probably put on some more next time I wash "just because", but seriously, they're still slick/tight-beading/"self-cleaning"/etc. after all this time, and that vehicle sure isn't pampered. No, the sides didn't last last as long, on the rockers and other lower sections the beading was starting to change after seven months and the slickness had dropped off a bit, so I clayed (virtually zero soiling of the clay) and put on a fresh layer back in late August.

I can't help but wonder how much my at-every-wash use of FK425/FK146 contributes  No no, I check the slickness/beading/etc. *before* I spritz it on; just thought I'd better mention that lest somebody get the wrong idea ;)

Does that mean you'd rank Zaino as the durability king?
